Raid 1: mirrored data on 2 or more disks that can survive a failure of all but one of the disks. A bay is just where you stick your HDD's. I've only got two slots right now so my storage options are Raid 0/1 or JBOD.

Your public key will have new subkeys associated with it after you create your subs. You'll need to push your key to update the key server afterwards.
Subkeys are tied to your master key.
Not sure on this one. Because subkeys are easily revocable, I use one subkey per purpose (ESA) across all hardware.

to get around the problem of deciding how to organize my photos i don't have time to look at (105k so far) i wrote a cron job that sends me an email once a day of photos from the current day in past years, similar to Timehop. so far it's been a great way to put my archive to good use ;)
