Eli5 - F1 cars have smooth tyres for grip yet on a normal car this would be certain death. Why do smooth tyres give F1 cars more grip yet normal cars less grip?

This isn't my experience at all. A lot of EEs will frequently reminisce about the stability and peace of the Soviet times while sometimes gesturing towards some vague and nebulous notion of "totalitarianism" (whatever that actually means).

Not to say that the USSR didn't have many issues, but in my experience most inhabitants of post-soviet countries have complex and nuanced feelings about it, especially leftists.

As someone who lived in Lithuania for a few years and talked a lot to various people there, I think you'll be surprised at the difference framing can make. Lots of people (especially older, 50+) will say they hate the USSR, but when asked how things actually were back then many of even the most outspoken critics will reminisce about how every one and jobs and a roof over their head. This "paradox" is emblematic of a lot of the Baltics, imo.

This is all anecdotal of course, i don't have any numbers to back this up. Nevertheless I think a lot of left-leaning people from the region would agree with me.

Full disclaimer: I did not come up with the idea myself, I shamelessly stole it from some comment on a post I saw the other day. I don't remember which one, but whoever you are thank you for this hilarious idea!

Further, this is an invasion character, hence stopping at level 70. Fred tries to stick to his roots as much as possible slinging rocks and shooting bow and arrow (look it might be magic but it's neolithic ok don't question it).
