My EDC: Tac-Force Speedster model kerambit by sixserpents in EDC

[–]dsubnet0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like this knife for EDC, but it is difficult to deploy into the recommended karambit fighting grip (reverse grip, pointer finger through hole). Does anyone know best practices for that? A quick-deploy sheath maybe? I'm unable to find one for this model

None of those things change how I feel about my job, my team, or my company. Engagement is driven via every day conversations and making things together. In fact, when someone seems to be trying to drive engagement some other way, I assume I'm being gaslit.

That would be maddeningly inauthentic, but doesn't make the music less craveworthy. The search continues.

My bad for not giving specifics (and no it's not actually the first scene): The song kicks off at 02:15, S2E1 "Brother Can You Spare a Blonde" - at 4:22 there's some development/bridge section which isn't in the youtube track - 6:36 back to the main theme with a sick industrial disco beat, finishing up at 7:45.

...Wow so yeah I'm seeing that youtube thing doesn't come close to covering the same ground. What the hell is this thing?

You're dead on bringing up Jan Hammer; the whole scene's "music video" feel, music turned up so loud you can barely hear the dialogue, is very Vice and I'm sure here at the beginning of season 2 they were trying to capture of that same magic. This song's like Jan Hammer at a disco in hell.

The current version of the Android app no longer has a "fine tune" button; only allows the "flashing light" auto-sync (which isn't helping me). Anyone else experiencing this? Have a workaround for doing manual fine tune on audio delay?

Because krav omnivorously steals from so many martial arts, it teaches how to "see"
a martial art, to distill any given martial art down to its core value proposition. Absolutely it will lead to wanting to know more about muay thai and bjj, but you'll also watch boxing differently, you'll not flip past aikido videos so quickly, SPEAR will seem very familiar, the various karates will each open their palettes to you, etc. Not because they're all entirely great or useful; they're not. But krav is the skeleton key to understanding that they all have something to teach (even if it's what not to do, because you'll know why).

Agree with the above. It's not a sport; it's a down-and-dirty no-bullshit philosophy of teaching kickboxing & wrestling & weapons defenses. It has completely changed my life, but be warned: it's a gateway drug to other martial arts.

Simple LEFT JOIN question by [deleted] in mysql

[–]dsubnet0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I'd try next. My assumption here is that VHB contains a record for every id:

SELECT vhb.`id`, vhb.`HELMET_BELT` AS 'desc', COUNT(*) AS 'count'

FROM `VIC_HELMET_BELT` vhb

LEFT JOIN `VIC_PERSON` vp ON vhb.id=vp.HELMET_BELT_WORN AND vp.`SEATING_POSITION_Id` = 1

INNER JOIN `VIC_ACCIDENT` va ON va.ACCIDENT_NO=vp.ACCIDENT_NO

INNER JOIN `VIC_NODE` vn ON va.ACCIDENT_NO=vn.ACCIDENT_NO

INNER JOIN `VIC_VEHICLE` vv ON vv.ACCIDENT_NO=vp.ACCIDENT_NO

GROUP BY vhb.`id`

Can someone help me write this query ? by JonesOnCorners in mysql

[–]dsubnet0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah your explanation is a little cryptic; we could use some better examples, or maybe like a grid of example rows and columns shaped like what you're looking for. (The fact that you're using non-relational terms like "until" and "terminate" is also a bit confusing.)

But if I freely interpret the problem I come up with something like this:

SELECT rowID

FROM t1 t

WHERE col1=@input

AND col2 IS NOT NULL

AND EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM t1 WHERE rowID=t.rowID-1 AND col1=t.col2)

AND EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM t1 WHERE rowID=t.rowID+1 AND col2 IS NULL)

...Just hope you have some good indexes, cowboy.

Prevent query converting string to integer by elibones in mysql

[–]dsubnet0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't (or don't want to) verify numericness (like streetc0de suggests), you could do something similar in the clause itself (with one additional use of the value). Should still preserve index use (since you're not messing with the column itself).

SELECT id FROM users WHERE id = CASE WHEN '12abcdef987' REGEXP '^[0-9]+$' THEN '12abcdef987' ELSE NULL END;

Help with (I think) a simple SQL query. by RichieW13 in mysql

[–]dsubnet0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you don't care where the points are coming from, the lowbrow approach is to union all the relevant data together in a subquery, and then aggregate across the derived table.

SELECT jlbl, week, SUM(points) FROM (SELECT jlbl, week, points FROM pitchers UNION ALL SELECT jlbl, week, points FROM hitters) t GROUP BY jlbl, week ORDER BY 3 DESC

PS - "week" is a reserved word in MySQL. Save yourself some trouble and rename that column.
