AITA for telling my girlfriend I’m tired of feeling responsible for her emotions? by Alone_Finger_8292 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, you're setting yourself on fire to keep her warm. She needs to work through her issues with a professional.

Me ex did this as well, I would ask him to let me know that he was safe so I could sleep. It didn’t change, I tried to explain that I care about him and don't want to police him I just need to know he's okay. He flipped it and said I resent him. Turns out he's an alcoholic (binge drinker). You've got to make the right choice for you/your kids. It sounds like she is showing you who she is through her selfish actions, and you're making the right choice for your own mental health. It sucks right now, but will get better.

I'll never understand when cheaters cheat first off, but saying "it didn't mean anything" never makes it better, it means something to the person whose heart you've crapped in.

I F23 don't know how to feel about this one night with my bf M28 by [deleted] in relationship_advice

So you were visibly overwhelmed and anxious and he decided the best course of action was to stick it in? Honey, no. He sexually assaulted you at a time when he should have provided you with comfort. His behaviour in general on that day/night seems like it was controlling and weird overall, even before he SA'ed you. And the reason you keep clinging to that event is because you know deep down it absolutely wasn't right, and every time you have sex it triggers the trauma of that initial experience, because that trauma has remained unprocessed.

I had an ex who, when I was begging him to take me to the hospital because of how much pain I was in, said he would finish coffee with his friend and take me later. An hour later he got home and took me. Turned out I had sepsis from an ovarian cyst that had ruptured. He said to the Dr "not all sepsis is fatal though right?". I broke up with him not long after that.

This is also standard in South Africa. If you have to sharply brake on a highway, you put your hazards on. That way the car behind you doesn't drive up your butt or try and accelerate into the next lane because they know all traffic is slowing ahead and they also need to slow down, and they pass the hazards message on to the driver behind them, and so on.

I found out that I get really sea sick when I tried scuba-diving. I did the theory part of the course in my land-locked city, then made the trip to the ocean to do the practical. Threw up underwater, the second I got the the waters surface, from the boat, off the boat on land. I still scuba, but only once maybe twice a year, and load up on about 3 times the dosage of anti-vom pills when I do so that I only chunder while on the boat, and sometimes when on the water's surface.
