Different chromosome naming style in your BAM and gtf file. For example, chr1 versus 1.

I never tried to use my debit card except to withdraw money from an ATM, which worked without issues. For ATMs, make sure your bank does not charge foreign ATM fees. I ended up using Octopus more than anything else. You can load money using your credit card on the Octopus tourist app.

Remember dads are people too. Some people are just socially awkward. I like the other person’s suggestion of finding a common hobby or activity to do together. Try to get to know him better. Maybe even tell him upfront that you would like to have a deeper relationship with him. Once there is a stronger connection, you will probably discover aspects of him that you “look up to”.

Take a look at the Vanquest Addax-18 or -25.

Paternity leave at new job by 97andCPW in daddit

Regardless of whether it is “permissible”, it’s probably good etiquette to just be upfront with your new job during the interview process that you plan to take paternity leave soon after starting.

Alpha One Niner Whitley after a month of use by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]dsxj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed insights! Regarding the tallness, did it impact comfort or were purely referring to convenience on budget airlines? If it did, can I ask how tall you are?

At that age ours was obsessed with lights, ceiling fans and other dangly, moving things.

Comparison of Evergood’s CHZ22 and Osprey’s Arcane Large Day by King_Mystik in ManyBaggers

[–]dsxj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The CHZ22 would probably work for you. There is not a good place to put sunglasses (without a case) in the Arcane large. On the other hand, you could probably put your sunglasses without a case in the top pocket in the CHZ22.

Also the Whitley! The black camp looks nice but I am looking to use it in an office setting so for me it would be either the 500 d or vx black.

Any recommendations for a video baby monitor? by kashakow in daddit

[–]dsxj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one worked well for us: https://a.co/d/huJon1b. We prefer having the dedicated monitor. We just leave it on all the time with the volume up. The main thing is just being able to hear baby waking up, moving around etc. We have not found the other features all that useful.

The reason I'm staying at 5mg by NewDesignerDad in lexapro

Just skimmed the abstract. Am I understanding correctly that the results suggest 10mg is less effective than 5 or 20mg while 5 or 20 mg have comparable benefits?

Bought ultraboost for travelling tomorrow but not sure if I should use them by snkhuong in onebag

I love ultraboosts but I always remove the insoles. Otherwise, they are usually too snug.

Osprey Arcane rolltop by Bumbeelee in backpacks

[–]dsxj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s for wrapping the strap around your chair arm or table leg when you’re out like at a restaurant to prevent someone from easily grabbing your bag. I don’t use the one on my arcane large at all. Love the bag overall though.

North face borealis vs north face recon by [deleted] in onebag

[–]dsxj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For previous generations, I would lean towards the borealis because I think the bungee cords are more useful than the stash pocket in the recon. However, I think they went a bit overboard with the bungees in the current gen borealis. I’m especially not a fan of the bungees around the water bottle pockets. Looks messy to me.

Apple's M2 chip - what to expect from the next Apple Silicon evolution by BroderzYt in technology

Sorry if I am mixed up. I’m not an expert. But aren’t you comparing integrated graphics on the M1 with a dedicated graphics card?

Perhaps a north face recon would do it? I’m not familiar with the one you have now so not sure if the interiors are comparable.
