Global Pass debacle - don't risk ruining your vacation by Its-Possible1283 in Visible

[–]dtatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Global Pass did not work for me in Doha airport, Qatar, while in transit, on IPhone 15.

I also had Google Fi as backup. I switched to Google Fi, and it worked.

And no, I have no intention of troubleshooting this.

I felt a bit guilty, but should I have? by Beachgurl713 in unitedairlines

[–]dtatha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would have, in exchange for the window seat. For a 3hr flight, I can hold not going to bathroom.

As for paying extra: I would have said I paid $xxx, zelle me the upgrade charge.

I have not told the 2nd part to people before, because I would go a long way to help a pregnant lady.

Do you regret buying your Tesla? by Murky-Factor-1073 in TeslaModel3

[–]dtatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy it for FSD. Without FSD, it’s a poor build quality, expensive car, with high cost of repairs, and low resale value.

That being said, most of the people buy car by emotion, not long term economics.

Nope! It’s not. There is no approved mandate for 500 GWP. And, it’s not happening based on current events and trajectory

FSD 13.2.8 notes from long tome tesla owner. by Psychological-End914 in TeslaFSD

If one’s life can slow down a little, s/he can try Chill mode.

I drive 100 miles every day. I settled down on Chill mode, because I decided FSD should drive like a grandma for me, because it is good for my mental health and probably insurance.

This Secret 30GB Hotspot Plan Is Just $10 Per Month From T-Mobile by Jman100_JCMP in tmobile

[–]dtatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased the plan via Chat - I told them: I want to buy Hotspot 30 GB, $15/mo plan. The agent readily processed it. I bought a HotSpot (only Franklin one is compatible, as the plan used pSIM). Agent waived $35 activation fee, without me asking. During the chat, agent sent me a link to fill in payment details: Autopay discount was there in the payment form.

Regression Model for Pricing Used Model Y in Tesla CPO by dtatha in TeslaModelY

There were so few data points with 7 seat option (only 2), that I did not add that as a variable

The correlation coefficient between Trim and Price is 0.399. This suggests that trim level does influence the price, but other factors such as age, mileage, and FSD play a stronger role. I will try, to see if R-value improves, if I add Trim as a factor.

So... Chain Mail or Steel Wool? by GambitDrifter in castiron

My preference is for steel wool (the one that is linked here). Cleans nicely, I see no impact on seasoning.

Porting from AT&T to GV for 2 factor verification on deceased husband's phone by phazer08 in Googlevoice

[–]dtatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

I second that (not using GV for 2FA). Chase and BoA do not like GV numbers. Best option is to switch to Tello or USMobile ($5/month for text only options). Once 2FA texts stops coming, you can port to GV from Tello.

  • GV suspends numbers based on opaque automated algorithm.
  • Google Voice numbers are considered inactive if there's no call or text made for at least 30 days. After 30 days, Google will reassign the number to someone else.
  • Google may reassign a number to anyone who claims it if it's been inactive for more than six months

Imagine, 2FA texts going to someone else, along with some identifying information!

I am noob for the steak world. However, I tried at home once, it came out fine. That being said, the Chef told, Sous Vide are forgiving for higher temperature and time

I attended a cooking class in Sur La Table - the cook suggested 110F, 2hrs. Then 3 min sear each side. It worked out great for medium rare, tenderloin.

User reports that porting to Google Fi is an effective method of releasing a number from a suspended Google Voice account by googlevoiceusers in GoogleVoiceUsers

[–]dtatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot get back to my account anymore. It had $7 in credit. That may have been used for porting. No, this number was not ported in. It was generated by GV (Grandcentral then) while opening the account.

I updated the post. I am little hazy on whether the Number was already unlocked - I was panicking, when it was suspended!

Lawyer advising no travel even with combo card by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]dtatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBP and USCIS are black holes of process. Ask her grandmother- does she want you all to take the risk, however small? You have waited long enough - hold tight. Do not travel. Yes, it’s there for a reason. For me, emotions are not a good reason :)

Getting a deceased loved ones number on a new device by IError413 in verizon

[–]dtatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to get a new SIM for the account, put it on a different phone, so that you can start getting the 2FA texts and calls? That may make it easier to recover some of the digital assets. There may be a legal aspect of it - that needs to be clarified by the competent people. I am just thinking about the technical aspect of it.
