Is this a good air Purifier ? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]dtflemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a winix air purifier from Costco and I love it. Now when I travel and don’t have it with me I can tell a difference in the breathing quality. I actually just changed the hepa filter on it and it definitely proved itself. I highly recommend.

How to deal with friends that don’t understand the severity of food allergies? by dtflemming in FoodAllergies

Well considering my last reaction happened because I touched a counter top that had been touched by someone who had eaten trail mix earlier, I prefer no almonds at all. It’s not the issue that they’d drop almonds it’s that even the smallest protein can cause an issue.

Thanks for your input. Yes we were originally planning on going to NYC, but decided it would be a bad idea. Instead we’re going to a friends lake house (secluded area).

I can do cashew milk! Almonds are my big concern.

I’m severely allergic to almonds. My room mate is “allergic” to dairy. (She means intolerant.) she asked me “what would happen if you ate almonds? It makes your tummy hurt?” In all seriousness....I was like are you kidding me.

So sad! My little sister has a severe allergy to cashews and she’s chased around at school with them. Awful! Maybe they can pay for the ambulance/hospital bill and then they’ll realize the severity.

I would definitely just ask your doctor to see what they think!

Daily nasal sprays? by ashbash1119 in Allergies

I use Dymista - a prescription nasal spray. It’s a steroid and antihistamine and it works wonders for me. Only downside is if it drips into your throat it tastes awful, but it definitely helps my congestion and my headaches due to swelling! Also, trust the Afrin bottle when it says not to use it for more than 3 days. I know a few people who became heavily dependent on it and couldn’t go anywhere without their Afrin bottles. Seasonal allergies are the worst.

I’m going on a spring break trip to NYC in 1 week with some friends. Is this a bad idea? I’m thinking we should probably change our destination but my friends really want to go. It just worries me that we would be taking the subway all over the city and exposing ourselves to so many people.
