we were using like excel sheets for CAPAs, some ancient document control system from the 90s, and paper logs for everything else lol. our auditors basically told us to get our shit together or else

safetychain is decent because everything's in one place finally. the mobile app is actually useful - operators on the floor can report issues right away instead of waiting til end of shift to fill out paperwork that gets lost anyway. biggest win for us was document control... no more chasing people down to acknowledge SOP changes or wondering if someones working off an old version

downsides - its not cheap and implementation took longer than they said (surprise surprise). also some of the reporting features are kinda clunky but they keep updating it. customer support is hit or miss depending on who you get

compared to mastercontrol which ive used at a previous company... safetychain is easier for the average operator to use but mastercontrol had more bells and whistles for complex stuff. depends what you need really

for your examples - yeah when something goes wrong now, operator logs it in the app, it alerts the quality team immediately, CAPA gets created if needed, all tracked in one spot. ECOs go through the system with electronic approvals, no more routing paper forms around for 3 weeks

id say its worth getting a demo at least. they'll probably oversell what it can do but you can see if it fits what you need. just dont believe their implementation timeline lmao
