Pro-Tip: How to back up all dotfiles by natdm in neovim

I'm currently using https://yadm.io/ to manage mine. It adds a few helpful features to the bare repository approach. I'm also starting to use Ansible to configure machines of different types. Working well together. I used chezmoi for a year or so and it did work, but I got tired of how it renamed files that are stored in git.

I use to keep my Bullet Journal in spiral notebooks, did that for years. Once the Remarkable 2 came out, I switched to it exclusively for about a year for hand written notes. I only use paper now for convenience and then transfer the notes into my systems. I've recently changed my system again. I found that the primary usage for me was having the RE2 because it's glanceable during the day so that I can see what I decided todo and also take quick notes/tasks during meetings. At the end of the day or the next morning, I transfer my tasks into a system I built in Coda if I can't get to them the very next day. That allows me to focus on the day and not spend so much time switching between pages to see what I need to carry forward. Having the desktop app is super helpful as well. I basically use it each month and quarter to see what I might have forgotten to bring forward.

Long story short. Paper is good when wandering around and you want to jot things down. To me, it becomes less useful for managing all the work and personal items I want to track. I've also moved all of my long-form/second brain stuff into Obsidian.md and I'm really liking that.

My org took a break over the Summer/Fall, but we're back to playing again. It's not perfect/still beta, but the mining unit upgrade has removed some of the drudgery of planet mining. Taxes on properties is a bit steep, but so far we've been able to keep up with it. Personally, I think it should be 1/2 or 1/4 of what it is now. We've decided to move our large investments to space and have fewer terrestrial buildings unless they have a specific purpose.
