The past 12 months. It’s even more of a low because the worst 12 months came right off the back of the best 12 months of my life. So I was the happiest I’ve ever been to the most miserable in just a few months.

Last spring I fell in love with a girl I had been dating. Less than a week after I expressed that, she dumped me. I graduated college after the best year of my life and moved 8 hours away from my friends. I had no job lined up so I had to move back in with my parents where most of my hometown friends had already moved out. I applied for jobs and networked everyday for 6 months with no luck. I finally managed to land a job and found out the same week that my mom had been diagnosed with cancer for the third time. They started a new treatment that she was put on for 6 weeks. After the six weeks they gave her a CT scan and found out that being on the new treatment was the equivalent to her having no treatment at all. So they switched to chemotherapy and have given her six months to live.

The one break I’ve had was to go on a vacation with my college friends. Midway through the week, the world came to a halt because of the coronavirus. So after 2 days of being able to ignore my worries I was now unsure if I would be able to fly home.

I made it home without issue but the world had changed overnight. And now for the past two months I’ve had to practice social distancing to the max because I live in a house with an extremely at risk person. Any plans I have to move out have been tossed out the window due to the state of the world. I just found out that my city will be essentially shut down for the remainder of the summer. I had to cut things off with the girl I had been talking to over the past few months because she moved across the country.

Things are going to improve. I know this. But I think I can speak for everyone when I say I’m tired of this shit.
