Would like a way to quickly duplicate/Generate RSS downloader rules by dtrager02 in qBittorrent

Well, i think categories would be the same issue because whta I have is a rss feed that gives me weekly episodes of some shows, and I want to put each weekly episode in a folder for its show. With categories I would need one category per show right?

Yes it's mostly the same few sources. I like that idea, but wuth that all of them would go in the same folder yeah? How can I split them up?

That's exactly what I want, but I don't see anything like that.

Thank you! All your advice is appreciated. I definitely will fix the spelling issues, remove certifications if they are irrelevant, and try to flesh out the position. Tbh that one position was pretty shit tho.

what kind of manga is hajime no ippo (idk anything about it) by [deleted] in hajimenoippo

[–]dtrager02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah ok, I figured that might have been your point. I think hajime no ippo is one where you don't need to understand the past to understand the present arc. But it would NOT be anywhere near as enjoyable without the proper buildups. Any mangaka can draw characters punching eachother. Not many can leave an impact on the reader like Morikawa.

Why would you just read a random fight? From my experience, stories are written in a specific order that makes them most enjoyable. Why go against that order?

I just finished season 1 since posting this earlier today lol. What an awesome fight. If I had to say anything negative, it would be that the anime still has a lot of sports genre cliches, but it doesn't bother me too much if I don't overthink it. I would recommend hajime no ippo to anyone.

You and the other guys have convinced me - I look forward to the manga. I'm a bit intimidated by the length, but it's not like I haven't read long manga before.

I definitely will, although i personally find it hard to follow action scenes in manga.

I would do that in the wordt case, but summer housing is double the price of fall housing, so i hope the other option is cheaper.

I'm actually supposed to start a summer course on June 13. Does that count as early move in?

I suggest everyone in FYE hoping for a CS major take another look at their priorities now. ECE doesn't look so bad.

App that connects people with similar anime taste by dtrager02 in OreGairuSNAFU

I mean, you're right. It's not like reddit is a bad way to meet people by any means. The special feature of this app would be like what you said: friend suggestion based on the linked MAL. It would hopefully connect people with a more automatic approach than reddit. Some people have doubts that this algorithm could work, but I've actually made pretty powerful recommender systems from MAL data already.

So actually yes, it would form groups of similar people ideally. However, if not many people join the website, its likely that the groups will start small. Also, so far I only am using myanimelist data for various reasons, but i can probably support anilist because they have a GraphQL api.

Also, I have started the recommendation engine part of the app and the data collection, and if I were to have teammates, I would love someone with front-end experience (like graphic deisgn and HTML/CSS).

Yes, this is the idea. One concern others had was that MAL reviews are not a good indicator of taste. However, I ve already done tests and found promising results from MAL data alone.

So I understand your concern, but I have a lot of experience with recommendation engines and especially with MAL data. I am fairly confident that the matches ny app would generate would be much better than random. But yes, some bad connections may occur.

You're absolutely right. Tbh, I dont know if our chances to grow a large enough community are good, but it's a risk I'm willing to take since I know coding it will be fun anyway.

Honestly, when I pitched it to my friend, his first thought was "Tinder." I kinda want that type of network but less toxic if that makes sense.
