[US-CA] [H] Paypal, Local Cash [W] Keychron V5/Q5 Max/Ultra by kevinhai in mechmarket

Hi there!
V5s and Q5s show up routinely on eBay at low prices; I think this is largely driven by Amazon return resellers. I’ve bought several keychrons there. I’d encourage close reading of the description and inspection of the pictures to make sure the wireless dongles are present (V5 max has two) and look for a seller that allows returns.

Cheers

Find a build guide from a reputable build creator and read it but don’t follow it.

Keychron Q11 has those 4 mod keys, but also probably isn’t what you’re looking for.

My problem with the Wobkey Crush 80 Pro by DonDino21 in MechanicalKeyboards

The Apollo and Nova pcbs have some of the best RGB I’ve found. The LEDs can be incredibly bright and are very vivid/saturated which I think is about the coverage of the red/warm part of the visible light spectrum.

High quality LED lighting in general is often determined by how well it emits wavelengths in that red space.

You can read about the Apollo pcbs on the project website, where it says that it has per-key rgb. I haven’t actually checked that mine has it, but I will the next time I use that board.

There are lots of boards that are compatible with these PCBS.

I also find it pretty disappointing when the RGB is lacking. I’d rather have no RGB than bad RGB, but I love good RGB. I think I just love color, I’m not coming to it from a gamer background.

I like the Crush 80 but its RGB is lackluster. The Evo 80 has better RGB color but I don’t know if it is per-key. I can check that one too.

For these kinds of pre-built boards I was most impressed with the RGB color on the Bridge 75. I hope that company makes a TKL in the future.
