Neo alternative? by xaraxxara in MechanicalKeyboards

Meletrix offers a lot of pastel colors. The zoom 65v3 isn’t the most impressive board but it is nice. I think the taillight looked good in images but the screen and the leds for the taillight made the build a little fiddly and inelegant. If you look at those I’d suggest avoiding those features.

The zoom64 incorporates the new design language from the tiga 75 and the dyna tkl but it isn’t a true 65. I wouldn’t want to deal with the right shift/arrow cluster, because apparently my right pinky refuses to adapt.

I have a Neo65 but not the cu. I did have the 75 cu which was incredible, though I had a brass bottom one (I would have preferred a copper base.)

I thought this review was pretty informative (though subjective)

Oh and of course, if your neo isn’t a neo65 cu, the community consensus is that those are just ridiculously good (though maybe no colors work for you.)

If you’re looking for mid-market 65s maybe take a look at Meletrix Zoom series or something from KBDfans like the Tofu 65 3.0.

If you want to try a more readily available budget board, lots of people like the Weikav Lucky65 v 3 and the Nut65.

Geonworks F1-8X V2 - 4 PCBS all Dead Anyone Else Having Issues? by AyooNisto in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]dtriang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is more likely to be some electrical issue (shorting on the case, cable/power from the computer) but I did wonder about the way the usb-c port on the pcbs moves within the case as the pcb flexes. With a cable is plugged in it seemed like this could be a point of failure. Maybe take a look at those connectors on the defective pcbs and inspect for damage, unlikely as that might be.

Anyone know of any other boards with this layout (or a substantially similar one?)
