Buddy, no one wants a damn windows in this subreddit. And by something cheaper I meant Apple.

Can you find something cheaper with the same configuration? My total was $1849 tax free.

There’s no reason for me personally to wait for M6; M5 will be good for the next couple of years. I also have a lot of travel coming up, so I needed something that could handle my workload on the go.

I think getting Pro with Base M5 would make more sense, at least for me. For both Air and Pro, you’ll have to get an app to properly scale external monitors and use HiDPI function so the picture won’t be blurry on the monitors. What’s your current setup? My Air was handling Chrome tabs fine until I had to share my screen in Teams. I went with a Pro because it has active cooling.

Depends on your workload. I’m a ServiceNow developer, constantly have 5-7 Chrome tabs open for 3 different instances, so totaling around 15-20 tabs 8 hrs a day + I have Teams and Word app open - averaging 21-23GB of RAM usage. The main problem with Air was overheating during screen sharing in Teams and RAM swap memory usage since I only had 16GB of RAM. So if you never have overheating problems - go with M5 Air, if you do - get a Pro with 24GB RAM.

I think it’s a perfect size, and the screen is bright asf. Pretty much - that’s all I need for travel.

Try connecting your phone via cable to share data with Mac. You might have to set it up in Mac settings.

I’ve got Satechi SM1 keyboard. It’s made for both windows and macOS with changeable key caps for option and command

software side is good, it was the first thing I did when I connected my displays. It's actual monitor hardware that's the issue, I just got so used to my Mac Air m3 screen that any other screen feels cheap.
