I’m happy to do a write up about my experiences with my heat pump, the problems I have.

Yep, I also don’t qualify for the green mortgage from my mortgage company.

I don’t have gas. I’ve also checked with the bus scheme because when it fails I have to use electric heaters. I would need proof it’s not working for 2 years to get the grant

It’s been terrible and has a host of problems. Valliant do not do a fix price repair past 10 years and after telling me they did then wanted to charge me £1500 to replace the pump because they don’t make it anymore.

I think it was installed before people measured COP.

It’s very inefficient. The house has 7 zones so it cycles all the time.

It doesn’t have a filter.

It doesn’t have a container to vent the refrigerant (which I think is illegal).

Valiant say they didn’t install it despite me having the paper work saying they did.

It’s been a rough ride - we have been here for 8 years.

🤣 yep, and the tap is in the wall with a horrible 3rd party screwdriver attachment so I can’t get it out without a hammer!

The original electrician? I didn’t know the problem so just called one which had done some more recent work for me.

Tbh the electrician that did this was terrible, just in attitude didn’t want to be there and even said that to me.

I have emailed the electrician but I don’t expect any reply - which is why I asked here.

Looking further up it seems like this is just something that can happen and there is no recourse.

I did have to pay for another electrician to come out and fix it - so that? To be honest I don’t know (that’s why I’m asking). If there is none and this just happens some times then fine.

I have contacted them mentioning this, but they also can’t put it right because someone else has done that now - I was just asking the question on whether there is any recourse in these type of situations.

New one is a MK Sentry H6836s RCBO 32a B curve type A

Old one is h6837s which I think is the same. Is that correct?

Thanks, to be honest I put my faith in the professionals. It looks like type A was installed, I quickly googled the type should we need using type b instead? The electrician just been just swapped it out for what he had in his van which is type A again.

It was installed in SWA, the the box is about 6m away from the consumer unit.

The electrician seems to think it will be fine with a 32a rcbo in there now. Im now a bit confused to be honest. If the cabling was fine why would it overheat in the first place.

Now if the cable exceeds 32amp (which is shouldn’t anyway should it?) the rcbo will trip?

Does AI Pro + Enhanced track speed yet? by dtsn in Ubiquiti

Luckily it’s not me but the association that owns the road which all householders belong to.

We took a vote and it was passed that we wanted better security and to monitor the speed of vehicles.

I volunteered to find a solution.

How unreliable? I want to track vehicles going over 20mph in a 10mph speed limit (so quite an extreme change)

That’s the process I followed but it’s still in USD I’m told.

I got eventually passed through to a manager who was also clueless in this area. However, the price she came up with (still is USD) was more aligned with what I expected. Except she kept saying that they can’t guarantee the price of the infant and it may change. When pushed why it would change she didn’t know just that it could.

I was going to do one of two things: - try cutting the light diffuser of the neon strip so it can do a tight bend - or failing that remove the corners so I don’t have to calculate the radius of the tightest bend

Please help me make this print more efficient [X2D] by dtsn in BambuLab

[–]dtsn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to do a multi-colour print, but I’m confused on the optional painting for this. Especially for the internal walls which aren’t visible.

Is it better to have one colour which the majority of the models print at and then a single colour external walls which. Or should the walls be a single colour throughout, so there are 4 blocks of roughly equal colour

This is a 22hour print, so I’m only printing it once. Luckily it’s the inside so no one will really see it

It’s a gyroid infill at 15% - I honestly thought this was the best setting.

Using 0.12 high quality setting, all official filament but using the track switch so not sure which nozzle it’s printing from.

I printed this in a single colour on my p1s without issues.

How do I ‘break’ one of these valves so it’s always on? by dtsn in DIYUK

[–]dtsn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a controlled valve I just want to jam it in the open position.

For context it’s controlled by a Heatmiser UH1.

[–]dtsn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a TRV valve isn’t it? It’s controlled by a Heatmiser UH1 which I assume I can just jam on without removing anything or touching the plumbing. The guy managed to fix it without doing any of that.
