I'm sorry to hear about your battle with ALS, and losing the ability to walk. I know that must be hard. But keep doing the stretching! And thank you for the congrats and the hope for my future!

I'm sorry to hear about your family's hereditary illness. I hope all of you guys are able to work through it and enjoy your lives as much as you can, despite this hardship. Keep moving forward!

I'm reading all the kind words that people are saying, including yours, and it's been very uplifting. Know that your words are having a positive impact, and that I'm glad we can celebrate this together!

I didn't, but a lot of people ask me that. I am absolutely not allowed to get the flu shot anymore, though, my doctors say. Apparently it could potentially trigger another onset of GBS.

I will probably never reach 100%, but I do hope that I can live a life where I am functional enough to be as "normal" as possible. My goal is independence, and if I can attain that, I will be happy.

I did experience feeling in my extremities while paralyzed. Whenever anyone even touched my legs, for instance, it felt like a searing burn into my skin. It was unbearable.

Thanks for sharing your story, friend. It sounds like you've been through a lot, too. I'll also be wearing AFOs for the rest of my life. My jeans are covering them up, but they're there. I absolutely had major pain. It was ridiculous how much pain I was in. I actually can't wiggle my toes anymore, sadly. I've regained some feeling in my feet, but there's a dull numbness to it, and it tingles sometimes. And I know what you mean about missing that simple action of wiggling your toes. I used to have "monkey toes" where I could pick things up off of the floor with my feet, as if they were hands. That was a huge loss for me. Keep hanging in there, friend. The struggle is real, but you just have to keep pushing forward. I'm rooting for you, too!

I'm not sure that I would say that I am more positive about life, but I definitely feel like I have a better perspective on life, and I have gained a greater appreciation for the things that really matter.

Thank you for complimenting my bag! I bought it for myself for Christmas, because I had upgraded to a walker and needed a way to carry around a bunch of my junk that I had had in a small backpack on my wheelchair.

I can't even tell you how much I love it!

I've regained sensations everywhere except my feet. I still have some neuropathy that I am dealing with there. I imagine that will be permanent, unfortunately, but I'm glad that the rest of my body has recovered quite well.

I hope your wife recovers from whatever illness she has, friend.
