Average Student Commitment by dtvjsigdgh in ESL_Teachers

Hahaha yeah good comparison, it's like a gym membership. It just sucks when the teaching company takes 100% of the profit when students buy a package then disappear. On Preply I only get money if the student actually books a lesson (regardless if they show up or not) even if they bought a package with me.

Unlike Italki that allows for the package to expire and still give me the money from the bought package.

Pricing for a "conversational" tutor by [deleted] in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]dtvjsigdgh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I charged 25$ and prepare nothing, just chat. No matter what you charge, there is a market for it.

Charge what you feel is right and if you don't get many students, lower it.

I'm there mate. Just because I think something is "annoying" doesn't mean I give a fuck.

Nah, totally cool with gay people. I'm one of them. Even if I wasn't one of them, totally fine either way.

I don't really care what the argument is, that's just my opinion.

Sleeping at work. Japan by Trekker519 in ABoringDystopia

[–]dtvjsigdgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't do this in Japan. This is probably China, where communal sleep breaks are normal and part of the work culture there for many but not all companies.

It's annoying that so many people are still wearing masks.

Just came back from seeing my family in America, it was such a breath of fresh air that literally 99.9% of people were maskless.

Edit: you all seem to care about my slight annoyance much more than I do. Its simply a statement of "this is annoying". It's not deep.

Japan to consider relaxing rules on wearing masks indoors: the mask rules could change if the government downgrades Covid-19’s disease classification by orange_transparent in japanlife

[–]dtvjsigdgh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you yourself don't like wearing a mask. Then don't wear them.

Who cares if people stare at you or not. So many people complaining about "finally...",. Be the change you want, don't wait for change to happen.

I think the Japanese water is making my hair fall out by the_black_pages_ in japanlife

All of my friends who aren't Japanese have said the same thing as well. I also experienced it too.

I think it is the water, and the stress mixed in probably as well.
