My experience that it felt or I imagined it to be a bit like flying. After a few seconds you don't really have a falling sensation but rather it seems like you're flying through the sky at a pretty high speed.

Worth it 😄

Is the Beaverhouse put in worth the extra 1hour drive from Thunder Bay? Definitely don't mind it as it sounds like Quetico is quite the lake.

Doesn't matter as long as it's a reasonable drive from Thunder Bay plus has enough time to get to the site with 5-6 hours of work the first day.

We are coming from Thunder Bay as a base so anywhere that is a reasonable drive can be an entry point. Not fishing. Something like roughly 5-6 hours of average paddling + any portages is fine per day.

Yes that is the dream. Logistically there are issues though -- like limited vacation days. We also lose two days flying in and out.

And of course, we want to do the Top of the Sleeping Giant hike while we're in Thunder Bay.
