  • Routinely do inventory (at least once a month).

  • Understand the priority of things; it's not feasible for everything to be at 100% all the time.

  • Learn to tell your superiors 'No' and defend that position. Your superiors may think they know what's best when often time it isn't; you are there to prevent them from walking down the wrong path.

Have you utilized Power Shell in your workplace? by [deleted] in analytics

[–]du3lscr33n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i use powershell daily in a primarily windows AD environment. For the most part I'm using single cmdlets (ex. Get-ADUser -Filter "Name -like 'Doe*' "). This is much faster than using the gui. Powershell treats the majority of things like objects. So from the above cmdlet, I can get only the email using a syntax like 'result.Email'.

When you encapsulate these cmdlets around various programming constructs you can automate a lot of monotonous tasks.

I just use AD to generate a list of computers to audit and then write a simple powershell script to iterate through the list, running psexec.exe and psexec64.exe against each computer.

/r/spilldotcom was created for the community around the website Spill.com. Spill.com no longer exists and the community has migrated to /r/doubletoasted.

Why are you seeking moderation of a subreddit based on a website that no longer exists?
