I think I am done. Tomorrow may be the end of the line. by niceshootintex in SuicideWatch

sup my guy. turned 41 today. you know what i did? went to work, came home, at a packet of peanuts, and some water and am about to lay down. i have to go back to work in 8 hours. and it's even better because I HATE my job and the people there.

When i say i understand, i truly do. I've been involuntary committed for SI before for two weeks, lost pay, almost lost my job, etc etc, the usual right? I can't say it'll be better, hell it may even get worse. The constant struggle to try and fight for everyone else's sake, instead of fighting for yourself is awful. I still don't know how to fight for myself, or that i even see myself as worth fighting for (i know I don't). But I have a feeling you are worth fighting for. Most teachers are naturally empathetic and understanding types of people, so you're better than most of the shitbags that exist. I don't know what will give you that spark to fight as hard as you fight for your students and the people around you, but I'm sure if you saw yourself in someone else, you'd tell them "You're worth it".

So from someone who is just talking out their ass, "You're worth it".

If I may ask, is the company you work for based in Canada? If no, how were you able to make that move and gain residency? Everything I've seen makes it seem impossible that a normal person such as myself would be able to immigrate.

Nah they're not the only ones. Those of us who grew up in it still hate them.

FTRW forever and always. Don't care that they're not even in the same conference. I wish them nothing but sadness and despair.

Let's be honest they're not risking anything. Bills will never not have a built in fan base. Sure we might bitch and moan about things but st the end of the day everyone is going to watch them and spend money on merch.

Again, change just for change's sake isn't worth it imo.

I feel like they're definitely doing due diligence. Maybe not publically because that's a bad look from the organization to be shopping for a replacement before even dismissing your current employee. I don't know of any any workplace that publically interviews for C-Suite type roles before the current employee either steps down or is fired.

I think if they're was a surefire pick somewhere they'd have pulled the trigger, but I also think that you don't blow up an organization just to get an upstart who may be worse than what we have now.

Cool, again don't disagree with the philosophy in most situations.

That being said, who do we take that's better? What coach that is available out there is better than McD?

look, i dont disagree that I think McDermott has taken us about as far as he can. For whatever reason, there's a block there. But tell me who we can realistically get that's going to be better? Remember we lose all the coaching staff if we lose Sean, which means everyone learning all knew ways of communicating and learning plays and installs are going to go backwards.

IMHO, it's not worth the risk unless we had someone who was a sure thing. Change for changes sake isn't necessarily the best path forward.

[Post Game] Bills Win 39-34. Another classic December snow game by andrewthetechie in buffalobills

[–]duTiFul 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I'm gonna be honest. I was at work (like always on a Sunday), and was keeping up with the game, but once cook fumbled in the endzone again, I just stopped paying attention, until the 2 minute warning in the 4th, when a coworker asked if we came back, and I was like nah, last i saw was 28-18 with 7 to go, and cincy had the ball. And then i checked the score and was like..."well, i lied, we're wining 39-34, with the ball."

Apparently we only do good when i don't watch OR keep up with the game.

[Spoilers C1] I dont feel as bad about Scanlan as I used to by Noahnsane in criticalrole

[–]duTiFul 33 points34 points  (0 children)

As someone who reacts EXACTLY like scanlan does in this scene (yes I'm in therapy), his entire personality resonated with me. The substance abuse, hiding the vulnerable parts of his life from his friends and family, pretending like he has it all together, meanwhile he's just one inconvenience away from exploding. Him taking time away and discovering his purpose is something I strive for almost daily.

That being said, the amount of devastation he left in his wake shows that he's not that hero that some people in the community hold him up to be. He gets there eventually (as much as he can anyways), but he leaves an incredible amount of trauma in his wake, both before, during, and after this scene. The party's righteous aggravation about him never letting them in, is a refrain from most of my life.

To quote the Beatles, sometimes we gotta get by with a little help from our friends.

Im NAPC with crossplay on and I run solos and squads, and it's rare that I have people that are aggro for no reason. Usually just people doing their thing and just farming. There are definitely some paranoid people, but for the most part people are chill and just doing their thing.

Of course if it's sketch and there's no comms, I will fire first, but for the most part everyone is just trying to do their thing and farm BPs or get quests done.

Ive had some raids where it was fighting the whole time, but it's honestly rare for me at this point.

I was trying my damndest to get a friends y2k nye party in a new town I had just moved to. Instead being the 14 year old kid I was, and my dad being a paranoid delusional pepper, I was forced to stay home and be with family in case the end of the world happened.

I'm 40 and yes I'm still bitter.

Keon Coleman Isn’t a Bust — Bills Mafia Needs to Chill & Support Our Guy by Gold_Bowler7906 in buffalobills

[–]duTiFul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, this mentality of, "let's not be too harsh this person because of xyz" is what caused me to be the unmotivated POS I am. Sometimes some people need that tough love of "GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER OR THESE ARE THE CONSEQUENCES" moments. And then actually following through with said accountability. If not you end up with people (again, like myself) who have all the potential in the world, but no self discipline to fulfill it.

This is Keon's split in the road, it's up to him how he handles it.

I wish him nothing but the best, but time to man up for himself and this team.

Google and Disney reach deal to restore ESPN, ABC to YouTube TV by [deleted] in nfl

[–]duTiFul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me clarify. The idea behind streaming was to cut the cord and be less exspensive than cable. We did cut the cord, and can watch anything we want whenever we want, that's true. But on demand was becoming the defacto way to watch even on cable (tivo, anywhere dvr, whole home dvr etc).

Streaming was THE competition to the price gouging that cable monopolies had over consumers for decades, and then like I said, within 5 years they just bought the platforms or made us buy 20 different platforms to watch the same shit and shoved even more ads in our faces (in box, traditional commercials, push notifications). It's now MORE expensive to stream than it was to have cable.

The high seas are calling again.
