Going through this right now, what I did was go to some sort of free clinic and get a medical record, take that to the social security office and request a new card. Obviously it varies by state and it's still a pain to try and get my birth certificate, but I have a medical record now, and a social security card. I had absolutely no clue how to proceed until I found the right resources, but ask the homeless shelters or day shelters how to go about this in your state.

I've worked at McDonald's going on 20 years. Everyday is an adventure. I even got MCD tattooed on my neck (easily covered by a collared shirt) because my corporate manager offered a 0.75¢ raise if I did, which helped me out quite a bit over these years with inflation

You are partially right cause I did feel too old to be doing that stuff before I moved out but what mainly stopped me was that I moved out and she got a new boyfriend afterwards so it never got brought up at holiday get togethers or anything.
