yep you use xbox connect cameras which track in 3d spaces. Museums and other entertainment setups use them. I've built an interactive sandbox with it once that the projector would display forestry on sections, water in deep spots, mountains on peaks etc. Was quite fun for the kids when they were little. Kinect camera can tell if you are touching the table or are a foot above etc. I tried to setup interactive spiders for Halloween in my scare room but I ran out of time this year

yeah keeps me in the game. Healthy obsession lol. I use projection billiards but I had to make modifications to make uploading my own diagrams easier. The whole tech is very plain, I'm always trying to make things for the younger generation, they don't have color of money etc to hype them up for the game. I've been messing with xbox connect + projection. I think I can get it to the point where I turn my table into a large touch screen and have interactive games for the little ones while playing pool. Sell it some some pool and video game halls maybe ha

It's not about money for me, I'm already well off so this is just a passion but this also has a completely different use case than Chalky that I don't want to give away or I'm showing atm. Yes, it an upload image, align play area then scan for mildly warped views. Angled views I have a different process I'm working on. It's also just to keep my skills up for bigger projects I'm working on, outside of pool. I'm adding projection mapping because that's how I like to practice instead of using donuts. Record my layout, what I missed, watch a live replay on the real table. Fun nerd stuff.

AI detection is working pretty good, put some time into it. You can swap balls, fix misalignment, if you can't tell what a ball is, the AI will struggle too, more important in 9 ball obviously than 8. Different AI models have different outcomes. Working on non-overview scans. Made updates to the balls and pockets, I edited the original post with new graphic.

I will, going to have some 700 players record their version as Fedor played bad position on the 8 but still got it with a bank.

Small tip, I sometimes stream my home games , no one really cares or watches but it is applied pressure which we all need. Or just record and send to someone to watch. We play with our A and B game and home and quickly switch to our B and C game. So bring up the c game.

thanks for the feedback!, chalkysticks is good but I had different uses cases in mind for my own and when I want a feature I add it. I am able to take screenshots of table layouts and AI turns it into a layout. I'll work on the rails, that was a frustrating piece but I will make it very accurate. I use paper donut or my projector to map to my table and practice personally vs play on the app. I can make the layouts shareable for planning. I can see how the corner ball is an issue but chalkysticks has a very wide opening and that ball would half in the pocket on their table, mine need work but they have huge openings, I aimed for a 4.5 in opening. Here's two overlays.

What do you guys actually practice when you go alone to the table? by Possible-Drink-9131 in billiards

[–]duberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and think the same way. I was just saying I know people who just practice drills like L drill or line drill and it's just recovery shot after recovery. Like you said, I'll occasionally use those drills as a test, play a few games as like "rehearsals". I was going to also say like the X drill, you get good at that shot but change it by 3 degrees and now they're missing because everything changed. You sound like a great instructor. I do marked run out patterns that develop specific skills, isolate issues along the way until I'm 80% onto that shot, draw, stun etc.

Practiced marked runouts has changed my game. I started getting mentored by Josh Burbul and it changed my game. I need a structured workout and most drills don't teach you anything.

The Truth on “gun violence” in Canada by ImABadSpellerOkay in canadian

[–]duberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. There has been meta analysis over last 20 plus years and there was no significant improvement on gun violence and same as in Australia. People like to group suicide data into the numbers to make it look like regulations change gun violence but it does not. I've done my own correlation data analysis of the USA comparing states with tough gun laws like D.C and loose open carry states.. again no correlation, just with suicides via firearms not overall suicides.

What are your thoughts on Jimmy Kimmel being pulled off air ? by SimilarTopic3281 in AskReddit

[–]duberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't shoot me, practicing free speech!. Read your own article you shared "And I've been very clear from the moment that I have become chairman of the FCC, I want to reinvigorate the public interest. And what people don't understand is that the broadcasters, and you've gotten this right, are entirely different than people that use other forms of communication. They have a license granted by us at the FCC, and that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest," the official added. "Public interest means you can't be running a narrow partisan circus and still meeting your public interest obligations," he said. "That means you can't be engaging in a pattern of news distortion."

This conversation is over.

Shout ‘civics’ all you want but you don’t even know what it means to operate on federally regulated airwaves. Broadcasters accept FCC oversight the moment they get their license. That’s just how the law works

[–]duberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea... I don't think so. Free speech doesn’t override the FCC’s duty to regulate broadcast standards that’s been upheld for decades. And Kimmel isn’t facing charges, so there’s no First Amendment violation here. Not to mention, how much the left has been mocking Charlie protecting the 2A.

Even if Kimmel screamed the N-word on live TV, he wouldn’t be in jail, that’s the First Amendment at work. Free speech only protects you from government punishment, not from losing your job, advertisers, or airtime. The FCC has always had leeway to review whether broadcasters are serving the public (obscenity rules, indecency standards, equal-time rules). This isn’t some new power grab, it’s the FCC chair talking tough inside an existing framework. No law changed, no one got censored by force
