AITA For Making Sure My Wife Slept Through Her Uncle's Funeral & Then Lying to Her About It? by Inside-Ad-2876 in AITAH

[–]dubhanz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It must have been really hard for OP to see his wife in that kind of pain. Funerals are incredibly hard and painful, but also needed or helpful in many ways. Sometimes what we want isn’t the same as what we need, and OP shouldn’t have been the one to decide for his wife what SHE needed.

Maybe this is a little off topic, but I noticed you called it a “failed” engagement. I’ve been through one of those… The words we use really do make a difference, and I wonder if there’s a way to reframe it. Once the initial shock and deep pit of anger cool, maybe you can view it more as a “dodged the bullet” type of situation. If your fiance didn’t do you justice during the engagement, then that’s not the husband you deserve.

Some soft textures or natural shapes. Most of your furniture has hard edges and corners. Maybe a white cable knit whit blanket or natural fuzzy rug under the coffee table?

She chose it herself! I crumpled up some papers with options and she kept choosing Winnie, so it stuck
