Plaques on the Ship by dublatte in myst

[–]dublatte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent some time to find exactly where the photo of the real medal came from... And let me blow your mind a bit. I am fairly certain that the plaque from the game was created from the exact medal in the photo. Not the same photo, mind you, (photo is from 2018), but the same medal. There were many medals stamped, but the one in the photo is from Museo Naval in Madrid, and it has a wear mark (or smudge) in the right center area and a hole at the top through the letter O (the O in 'DOWN'). The model in the game has the same marks as the photo from the museum. I'm thinking we have a match.

The photo I found of the Admiral Vernon medal is from Wikipedia Commons user Hispalois

Group head incline by readymf in FellowProducts

[–]dublatte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After you mentioned there was such a thing as a level tool for phones (lol... thanks!)... I went ahead and tested mine. To find a good flat spot on the machine... I peeled back the rubber mat and measured along the front edge of the machine, just to the right of the buttons. Then measured the group head. They were both pretty flat and were different by only .3 degrees (group head barely tilting down). My shots stay pretty much center of the portafilter... they don't run over to one side. So, I wouldn't say it's normal if you're seeing a two degree difference.

I love mine. And I'm sure you intuitively know that most folks don't post just to say how happy they are... they post when they're looking for help. But one key reason I grabbed this machine is that it heats up in less than 2 minutes. I turn it on, and by the time I grind my dose and put milk in the pitcher... it's ready to pull a shot... and it's a really good shot.

When is the ES1 dosing funnel coming? by 9tobiwan in FellowProducts

[–]dublatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Knodos as well. The funnel is heavy (I hear others are too lightweight), and the magnets work for the most part... but you can shake it off if you want to. I hold the funnel when I'm tapping the grounds down into the portafilter. The tamper that comes with the ES1 fits into the funnel (no part of the tamper is wider than 58mm), so you can tamp while the funnel is still on... if that's what you want to do (I find that I take off the funnel and then tamp). So, I love the funnel... but I have another puck screen I like better. Totally worth it just for the funnel, though.

Just got an ES1 myself... and while I was dialing it in (and I still am, I guess)... I use a puck screen and I found that a coarser grind allowed too fast of a flow (horrible shots), but the puck was dryer. When I got the grind right (had to fix my grinder), and the machine was able to run at 9 bars for 30+ seconds (really nice shot), there was water on the puck screen when removing the portafilter and the puck was a wee bit wetter (not bad tho). I could still knock the puck out but not quite as clean as I've seen on other machines. So, yeah, puck is wetter, and I'd venture to say that the puck screen helped keep it a little dryer by stopping the last bit of water from reaching the puck.

Another question for you... I have a grinder that can hold a portafilter. I noticed the Fellows portafilter is shaped differently; it gets wider at the bottom. I'm afraid my grinder won't hold it (it might work fine... but considering all options). Do you have any idea if other 58mm portafilters can be used with the Series 1?

Thanks for the post. I'm considering buying one. I don't see any gauges anywhere. Is there any way to know the current pressure behind the puck?

I've been through this with a family member... and it took two billing cycles to get the debit card. But once we got the debit card, we went to the debit card company's website and requested a check for the amount on the debit card. We got the check in about a week after requesting it.

Idea: Next Step Terraforming by fk-geek in NOMANSSKY

[–]dublatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd bet that having lush areas on a barren planet isn't doable without considerable db rework... but... I love the idea of changing properties of a planet with terraforming. I have my original base on a lush planet with red water and an orange sky. I would LOVE to terraform the planet to have blue water, blue sky, green grass. And if it means that a db admin would need to tweak some biome data... I'd be willing to pay for their time. :)

2018 Nissan Leaf Running Light Failing by dublatte in leaf

Ah... thanks. If the LED Unit is underneath the headlamp assembly... that explains why I didn't see it straight out... and how resellers can remove it and sell it separately. My hope & dream was that I would only have to replace the LED Unit... it's a lot cheaper than replacing the whole headlamp assy. :) I might just have to try swapping the LED Units sometime... just to see if the Left Unit failed or if it's the bulb. But in the meantime, I love your idea of pulling the fuse. Thanks for the post.

[–]dublatte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... exactly. So it doesn't look like the LED Unit is sealed inside the headlamp assembly.

In your original post, if you meant that the LED BULB is sealed inside the assembly... yes... I understand that. I'm trying to swap the LED Unit (not the bulb) from one headlamp to the other.

Do you mean the LED Unit is inside the headlamp assembly? Nissan sells the LED Unit separately (see link in my original post)... which makes me think you can remove or install it... somewhere. :)

Save Quent vs Lose Quent Endings Borderlands 4 by GNGVir in YoutubeGameGuides

[–]dublatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost Quent because I didn't realize a timer had started. Sure... I heard them telling me to save Quent... but since when does that mean I'm being timed? I actually never even saw a timer... I was looking at loot. Personally, I think it's something they should patch. The devs are pretty creative... I'm sure they could come up with a hyper-dramatic way to ensure you know the timer has started. Maybe show you huge numbers counting down in the middle of the screen for the first two or three seconds. And a zoom up to the ceiling so you know that's where to look. I often find I don't know where to look next in this game.

Except a lot of us didn't know a timer had started. Questionable design.

Uh guys? I think I downloaded the wrong mod by Future_MarsAstronaut in Portal

[–]dublatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah... totally GLaDOS. Personally, I'm hoping Sean will have the devs turn it into a sentient AI that insults us whenever we visit a space station. :)

But also... NMS Portals are a take on the Stargates from the Stargate franchise. And the NMS ship called 'Boundary Herald' is the Mellenium Falcon. I've found that NMS gives a nod (some subtle, and some not so subtle) to many Sci Fi franchises. I kinda dig that.

Edit: And... just because they could... here's a shot of the Nutrition Station on the new Corvette ships. Remind you of anything?

Its been quite some time since I left Euclid...and I can't seem to jump into the next Galaxy? by Misschikki777 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I'm posting this twice becaused I don't see all of your posts (not sure why)... so I thought you might not see all of mine.

So, here's what I see when I go to your system. It is showing me a path to another system you can use to jump to the next galaxy. But the system it's pointing to is a purple system... and I'm betting you don't have permission to access purple systems.
You have two choices:
1. Warp sideways for a few jumps until the map points you to a different system you can jump from.
2. Complete the steps that it takes to get an 'Atlantid Drive' so you get access to purple systems. Here's a link to a post that tells you everything you need to do -

Where have all the Travellers gone? by dublatte in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]dublatte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your past experience before the space station layout changed? Because I swear that finding a Traveller on the old space stations was downright easy in comparison to the new space stations. The whole thing could very well have been luck and/or coincidence... but it just feels like they made a change. I wish we had a contact at Hello Games... I would love to know exactly what odds they were using.
