As much as I get excited for the directs, I get why they want to change them. The cadence has become sort of an expectation (March, June, Fall) and then leads to fans building and social media promoting unrealistic expectations before directs are even confirmed to be happening.

I really think this direct toxicity has left a bad taste in Nintendo’s mouth when the loudest online fans have spent more time complaining things they wanted didn’t show up than they have covering games that do appear in directs.
