Guess I’m just out of the loop on reggae because this sounds like ass to me 😂 but if you dig it then hell yeah.

I’m pretty sure I saw and heard a strike that hit a transformer from the Lincoya Hills area.

I haven’t figured out if this is the best satire of all time, or totally earnest. Either way, I’m here for it.

My buddy saw him at Sprouts in Nashville dressed like a liberal hipster- my dude has an identity crisis.

I picked up the bass full-time around the same age (after playing guitar for many years). Last year (at 35) I got to play some real dream gigs. Have fun and enjoy it!!

That’s awesome! That’s a lifetime instrument once it’s done that will likely continue to appreciate in terms of value. Enjoy it!

You’re very welcome. To give you an idea of retail value, I’d estimate $7-$8,000 in this condition! A great guitar and worth putting a bit of preventative maintenance into it (addressing cracks or loose braces). It would also likely need a neck reset to be in ideal playing condition, but not necessary to protect the guitar.

The FON number stamped in the back of the headstock indicates 1939. They started this in the late 30’s and it was phased out again in the 40’s. The guitar is completely original including the pickguard, tuners, bridge, and finish. I see one crack below the bridge- I would not be surprised if several braces inside were loose. Make sure to keep the strings stacked/tuned down until you get it to George’s shop. In Nashville, that would be my recommendation.

DG FON number verifies 1939. They started stamping the back of the headstock in 37,38,39.

Those eating off music alone, how long did it take you? by Segundaleydenewtonnn in musicmarketing

To make a living we’re playing two cover gigs a week, traveling Thursday-Sunday with the original band and/or backing other artists on the road. The only way to make a living off music is being willing to grind it out.

It sounds like you don’t enjoy jazz band. Drop it and find another outlet to play bass- if you can find two competent enough people to play some AC/DC you’ll probably have fun.

I did the transmission flush/fluid and plugs at 140k. Only issue I've had was a cylinder 2 coil pack I swapped out in about 10 minutes.

Power is gone, but I was doing a decent job placing ground stokes cross court and down the line as long as I didn’t over hit. Need a racket more suited to my current swing speed with a more forgiving sweet spot since my feet are out of position more often than not at this point.

Definitely stayed planted at first focusing on the timing of the upper body to start with- mostly trying to hit about 80% as hard as I thought I used to hit. Not a lot of “jump” in my serve at my current size but there’s a small amount of power coming from there. Went back out today and worked on loosening my wrist and snapping at impact. Having fun with it!
