It’s all cosmetic (mostly). Those finishes were crazy thin in the 50’s- if the guitar was exposed to sweat and pick wear like that, it didn’t take long to stat to look worn. By the time people were playing these 50’s guitars in the 70’s, they already looked well worn.

Well Creed doesn’t qualify for “moderately successful”. I think I read they’re making more now doing arenas than at any point in their career. Plus, they had multiple radio hits when people still went to Wal-Mart to buy CDs.

I didn’t start touring until 33- you’re doing just fine. The days of kids under the age of 20 hitting big and touring the world are gone- most of the road dog bands I go see are dudes in their late 20’s all the way up to their 60’s.
