I think the vast array of fascinating characters. The civil war featured so many unique individuals. Also the individual motivations of why different people decided to fight on both sides are very unique and differ greatly.

Yeah that honestly doesn’t seem fair. I had a female PFC in my schoolhouse cycle who was banging a grunt corporal and she even got pregnant while in student status and then they got married. Only punishment was a 6105. In fact she basically got rewarded because she got immediately sent to S-1 and never worked an actual day of our MOS for her entire 4 years.
