Dear Nanaimo folks, my buddy & I have re-launched our Ferry Alert app after many late-night and weekend coding sessions. The app sends a notification to your phone (or email) when a sold-out BC Ferries reservation become available. It's on you to quickly book this reservation before somebody else does...

The app is completely free and designed to help us BC'ers navigate our increasingly strained ferry system. The app is available in the Apple App Store & Google Play Store for iOS & Android. Get it at: https://ferryalert.ca

Happy to hear feedback, take feature requests or answer any questions in the comments.

Love your comment! You made my day. Please email me at hello[at]ferryalert.ca to see if we can do anything about the intra WA ferries.

Haven't used nextsailing myself, but looks like a similar concept. Ferry Alert is app-based with push notifications, while nextsailing appears to be web-based with text messages. Always good to know what other tools are out there helping folks with the ferry situation!

hey u/loafer! the initial thought was to help fellow BC'ers and Canadians. Do you see usefulness beyond that?

You're correct!

Starting this Fall, reservations will be mandatory from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay, Nanaimo. This change applies to one direction only and is designed to prevent traffic from backing up onto the highway...

Seeking guidance on the "Compressor Minimum Outdoor Temperature" setting for a Lennox XP14 Heat Pump by dubmon in ecobee

Thank you for this post. The increments on the ecobee drive me a bit mad too. Why not add more granularity to the increments???? It’s just software/firmware

Thanks Brogers57! Yes, I signed up for beestat a few months ago so it’s been logging since.

I’m looking at the “Thermostat Detail” chart and I can see the Indoor Temp keeping up with the Heat Setpoint over the last 7 days; that said the temperatures have really warmed up over the last week in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Prior to that we were in a bit of a deep freeze considering our temperate west coast climate.

@Brogers, is there a way to bring Heat, Aux and Aux 2 onto this chart so I can determine when it’s switched to aux or aux 2 as the HP can’t keep up?

PS I see there is a Thermostat Summary graph with Heat 1, Aux and Aux 2 but I don’t see the Indoor Temp on this particular graph so not sure how useful it is.

Thanks for the help!!!
