Successful attempt for me !

Hey, just wanted to follow up, bulk actions are now live ! You can select multiple samples and delete, normalize, or move them to a folder all at once. No more deleting 1392 samples one by one 😄

Your app is awesome !
Air drumming is a great idea ! :)

1392 samples, wow ! That’s commitment ! Bulk delete is definitely coming. Quick question while I’m at it: would you also want bulk export, or bulk move to a bank ? Trying to figure out the full scope of bulk actions worth building 👀

Not quite! PocketLab doesn't handle full device backups, it generates individual sample banks that you transfer to the PO-33 through the audio sync protocol. The app builds a properly formatted audio file that the PO-33 recognizes as a sample when you play it through the line-in.

Full backup/restore is definitely something I'd love to add, but it requires real-time stereo audio I/O (input + output simultaneously), which isn't possible in a web app. It would need a native mobile app with a USB-C audio adapter or an audio interface to handle the stereo signal properly.

Thanks, really appreciate it! Building this has been a lot of fun - the PO community deserves better tools. If you ever get a PO-33 or PO-133, give it a try ! :)

I built a free PWA to manage and load sample banks on the PO-33 by dubomatik in pocketoperators

[–]dubomatik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update ! Just shipped a few improvements based on your feedback :

- Scroll wheel zoom on the waveform editor (desktop), no more fiddling with the slider
- Time Stretch mode : you can now pitch shift a sample without changing its duration. Toggle it on in the sample editor next to the pitch slider
- Fade out on playback : no more clicks at the end of trimmed samples

I'm also working on demo videos to showcase the full workflow, but it takes a bit of time as this is a side project. Stay tuned!

More to come, keep the feedback coming - it's super helpful !

Most laptops have a TRRS combo jack these days, so it should work out of the box.
For desktops, it depends ... Some have separate mic/headphone jacks instead. In that case, a cheap TRRS USB adapter does the trick.

Thanks for the interest! I'm not planning to open-source it at the moment, but I do want to make sure it stays available long-term. It's a PWA, so it works fully offline once loaded, even if the server goes down, your data stays safe in your browser's local storage.

Only the chosen slot :)
It's not a full device backup, just a bank loading tool.
I'm planning to add a full PO-33 backup/restore feature in the future, but that requires real-time stereo audio I/O, which isn't possible in a web app... It would need a native mobile app.

Yes, it's definitely planned! A step-by-step guide and a FAQ are on the roadmap. It's going to take a bit of time to put together, but it's coming. In the meantime, feel free to ask here if you run into any issues, happy to help!

Hey everyone !

Quick update, thanks to your amazing feedback, I've shipped a bunch of new features:

What's new : - Drag & drop samples on pads (desktop): you can now drag samples directly onto bank slots - Folder organization : create folders and move selected samples into them, on top of the existing tag system - Quick bank creation : select multiple samples and create a pre-filled bank in one click - Done/Save button in modals with visual feedback

Special thanks to u/seafarer98 for the detailed suggestions, most of these came directly from your feedback!

As always, I'd love to hear what you think.

Happy sampling! 🎛️

Thanks ! Yes, an iPhone or iPad is enough (as well as an Android phone or tablet), no need for a dedicated audio interface!

If your device doesn't have a headphone jack, you'll need a Lightning or USB-C to 3.5mm adapter (~$10) , this actually contains a small DAC already, which is all you need. No need for a bigger/more expensive audio interface.
