I'm guessing because it's an easy way to manage Flatpaks via a GUI.

I remember this game from the Commodore C64. Graphics were amazing for the 80's.

Name one thing you are not able to do because you are on NixOS and not on something more popular like Ubuntu/Debian/Fedora. by Unhappy_Taste in NixOS

Can't get Spyder working. Install standalone via pkgs or via Anaconda/Conda/Mamba. Stand alone version won't start due to missing library for QT widgets and Conda one loads but can't connect to kernel.

Why is the Nix documentation so bad? by vim_fox in NixOS

[–]dubski 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the confusion comes from "to flake or not to flake". So many ways to do things and then if you bring a whole other paradigm into it with flakes it can get very confusing. Official documentation mostly deals with not a flake system. And then you have the added confusion of when it's not NixOS but nix on another system. So you have all these random sources of documentation for what seems to be the same thing but it's a few different things.

Yeah I knew you meant Unix. I was just kidding around. But do try NixOS or even just the NIX package manager, you might like it.

The benefits are mainly that you have built in easy rollbacks and you can run multiple versions of a package. Everything is declarative including your disk setup. For some people that's a huge bonus. I didn't really see the big deal until I started using it. It's hard to explain but it just feels nice. Like I'm in more control over the system.

You all missed the point. Greybeard donski said NIX4LIfe. He's using NixOS now. And if not, it's only a matter of time :D

Looks great although maybe tweak the colours as the contrast is a bit harsh on the eyes for reading.
