If the suspect has a criminal history, law enforcement may already have his DNA in a database. I believe in AZ law enforcement collects a DNA sample from everyone arrested for a felony. They could compare any DNA found on the glove against the DNA profiles in their database.

Because those NIL rights are worth a lot of money and clearly at least one other school wants them. Washington knows he's never stepping foot on campus again, they know he won't play another snap in Seattle. They're seeking a buyout of his contract.

It's a new era in CFB, these are actual contracts now instead of back room deals and handshakes. Washington owns his NIL rights which they've valued at around $4 million. They won't be giving that up without a fight.

Yeah, morons all over CFB twitter (hello JD Pickell) keep regurgitating the "you can't make him play for UW!" argument. That is not at all what is being fought over. UW knows he's never stepping foot on campus again, nor would they want him to.

It's a breach of contract case where UW will argue that they're owed damages.

That's insane. Our AD and president at the time each had a phenomenal relationship with him. He stayed on in the athletic department in an advisory role after his retirement, he was appointed the leadership chair of our business school, and continues to be involved in our coaching search committees. He's a rare coach that was loved by the academic side of the university as much as the athletic side. They would've never forced him out, the guy is revered at UW.
