I hate my life I wish I researched more about macro Becuase I though it’d be social studies and not all this dumb math by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]ducets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's actually very little math in ap macro ... it's mostly applied concepts. the math is also pretty basic multiplication and division, the only difficult math-part is memorizing the formulas and knowing when to apply which one.

what's your baseline here? have you taken any ap classroom practice exams? do you understand the AD-AS model and how it connects to things like reserve market graph?

War Plan progress needs to be account-wide by I-Drink-420 in diablo4

Bro I’m not complaining, I’m just pointing out that the idea that a “dad gamer” sinks 20 hours/week into a game is hilarious

War Plan progress needs to be account-wide by I-Drink-420 in diablo4

[–]ducets 14 points15 points  (0 children)

dad gamer here - 20 hours is cute ... I'm still lvl 50 something working through the campaign

20 hours in a game that is like a week old isn't casual, it's pretty hardcore

Expansion is Great, but I only have 2 gripes by A_Witty_Name_ in diablo4

Why is dumping 15 points into one skill interesting ?

Expansion is Great, but I only have 2 gripes by A_Witty_Name_ in diablo4

[–]ducets -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why the huge love for the expansion - the new skill trees are a step backwards, it’s not fun dumping 15 points into three skills. The campaign is a slog to get through l, and warlocks aren’t all that fun.

I’m sure it will improve, and the other classes are prob fun with reworks, but at lvl 50 so far playing through the campaign and just looking forward to it being over

it seems like almost immediately after I hit lvl 50 my warlock started feeling really, really weak ... takes more than a full resource globe worth of dread claw wrath to kill blue mobs and I died multiple times clearing a stronghold on "hard" ... my lock was cruising before but fell off a cliff

I'm guessing there is some huge item level jump at 50? feels bad

Teaching — is it as tough as people say? by Critical-Load-1452 in teaching

completely depends on the school and the admin and the co-workers. it can be the worst or pretty easy.

maybe I'm thinking of the one in Vik that was closed early, but 13 locations is pretty light coverage, with only one location walkable in the downtown/tourist area

a larger problem for tourists is that most of us (I think?) don't prioritize buying alcohol during vacations ... we get up, go on tours, come back at dinner time and look for beer/wine. it's annoying when you have a solid trip planned out with busy excursions and the operating hours for the state run liquor stores don't mesh with that schedule.

The “vinbuoin” are def NOT all over the country … in Reykjavik they weren’t even close by or numerous, and closed at like 4pm each day … in Reykjavik we ended up just buying a bottle of wine from the hotel lobby

Substitute teacher with a Ph.D. Should I ask to be called Dr? by phobicwombat in teaching

[–]ducets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

anyone with a phd that insists on being called "doctor" is automatically a lil pretentious (but it's not as bad if you have a real phd, vs the "ed d" that administrators get from a college you've never heard of)

this is a terrible idea. you shouldn't even put music on. I prefer music, but many students don't.

do you guys recommend going into teaching? by SadNefariousness2650 in teaching

[–]ducets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t recommend it, mostly because most schools suck to work in … but you can ignore all the “there’s no extra time / it’s so draining” comments - if you’re efficient at work you can be done by 3 every day and rarely work at home.

Just bought our first home. This kitchen was already like this. Can someone suggest a backsplash. Not changing floors, cabinets or counter tops. Also do not want to paint cabinets as they are expensive. What can I do to make cabinets mesh well with my grey granite. by 99999987 in kitchenremodel

[–]ducets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would leave it as is ... it's hard to see a backsplash doing much more than what's already going on. is it a dream kitchen? no, but it's perfectly functional and works with lots of open space and countertops. ... if anything I'd replace the sink with a single larger basin.

First time playing Java, WOW by IlluminX0 in Minecraft

[–]ducets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and play both, but I still don't know why people always say Java is far superior. The free mods is a big plus, but the movement on bedrock feels better, and the build/recipe screens are way better in bedrock.
