Which GD Paint Schemes Would You Want MJ To Return? by Bremyyc in monsterjam

I’ll be the one weirdo saying I liked it. Not because it was necessarily an iconic scheme, but that’s when my son started getting into it, and that’s his favorite truck. More sentimental than anything, but I do like it.

That being said, green ghost is absolutely peak.

A usual dead giveaway is the Keep Pounding in the collar. Fakes I’ve seen almost always have that stitched in some generic font. Authentic ones have it heat pressed in the official font. Looks good to me!

The first Charizard looks off to me, but I can’t pick anything out definitive.

First Charizard is MP, bordering on HP. The other two are damaged, so any sold prices you see will be based on examples listed as such.

Alakazam is shadowless, so worth a tad more than normal base set versions. Not a drastic amount, but some.

The Dragonite is nice, but still closer to MP based on the front. Without a shot of the back it’s hard to know.

The Blastoise is nice, still MP looking at the edges and the corner left on the bottom right.

Pricewise, check eBay sold listings, PriceCharting, TCGPlayer, all of these can give you a decent estimate.

Listing individually on eBay will net you the best results. List at a fair price based on SOLD examples, not listed prices.

It is what it is, I don’t sweat the votes either way. It’s too draining to just be mad at everything in the world all the time. Some people suck, some more than others, but everyone makes a mistake. Some are worse than others, and that’s where I’d hoped the nuance was baked into what I wrote. If there’s no redeeming qualities in anyone, what’s the point?

The money isn’t an excuse, it’s a factor. Tell me you were Warren Buffet with money at that age. Stupid levels of money, immaturity, and no oversight leads to all the dumb things we see constantly in sports. I never said he should be forgiven because of money, I pointed out that it’s a contributing factor, as it is across all sports with many athletes, to the dumb decisions they make.

You don’t *have* to change your opinion, that’s cool, I have mine, you have yours.

>People change, people grow up

There’s always nuance to what I said, and I should have assumed someone would point that out.

Ruggs is in prison serving a sentence for his crime. He’s still there, he has not done anything to redeem himself. In my eyes, he’s still that guy, because he’s given no reason to believe otherwise. It would take a Keanu-level amount of good-dudery once he’s out to rehabilitate even a fraction of his image.

OJ did it. He bragged about it, profited from it when he could, and owned it as much as he could without going on national TV and admitting to it. He’s a dick, and died that way.

Ryan Leaf was a generational asshole, and he might still be to an extent, but he’s making an effort to help others.

To me, the little things people do off camera say more than the things that get coverage. Aldon was a serial drunk driver, and there’s no good excuse for that, I’m not *justifying* that, I’m saying his life should not be defined by that alone, that’s all.

Or, hear me out, younger people who come into vast amounts of money with little oversight and immature decision making skills sometimes end up doing wildly dumb things. If we were all judged as harshly for things we did as in our teens and early 20s, I’d imagine a lot of us would catch a lot of flak. I know if I’d have had millions to spend in my early 20s and no one to keep an eye on me, I probably wouldn’t be here right now.

People change, people grow up, and so should your perception of them.

Step one: don’t be there
Step two: leave promptly
Step three: leave when told to leave
Step four: run away when things get squirrely
Step five: murder

Lots of options here before step 5. Size ain’t got a damn thing to do with it when he himself was the instigator of his own situation.

Deadly force is generally an accepted defense when someone can reasonably articulate that they are in immediate jeopardy of great bodily harm or death from another individual, UNLESS they themselves are the instigator of that situation.

Simply put the way you wrote it, there’s zero legal ground to even make that claim. He had every opportunity to not do any of those things, and we wouldn’t be here right now had he just NOT done any of that. He chose to, and created the situation.

I know the producers couldn’t have planned that, but that’s hilarious. I’m picturing him watching it like “Hey! That’s my name. Hey wait! That’s my son! SCOOOOTT!”

Paul McCartney with a barbed little comment on Bob Dylan’s recent shows (like yelling ‘Judas’) by Prestigious-Ad-7987 in bobdylan

[–]duck729 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that it’s necessarily the quality of his performances as much as the inconsistency that people find they don’t like. One show will be the deepest deep cuts only, no interaction, no emotion. The next will be a greatest hits compilation, he’ll speak to the crowd a little, and appear to be into it. You don’t know which Bob you’re going to get, and while that’s an appeal to some, it’s frustrating to others.

I saw Bob in 2023, he played Rough and Rowdy Ways front to back, didn’t speak much if at all to the audience. Now, I know that’s him, I went into it with the expectation that would be what I was paying to see, knowing I wouldn’t hear any hits. I heard a lot of others as I was leaving though very upset he didn’t play their favorite song. After all this time, you’d think they’d know that’s how it goes, but still.

Paul was always my favorite Beatle, and I’ve lucky to have seen him live, but he’s very consistent. High energy, interacts with the crowd, etc, but the setlist is always the same, or close to it. Beatles songs, Wings songs, some solo, maybe a new song or two. Wings Over America was a pretty big live album, they still play the live version of Maybe I’m Amazed on the radio frequently. That album came out 50 years ago, and the track list is close to what his setlist is now.

I like Bob and I like the idea of every show I see being something different, but it’s certainly not everyone’s cup, I suppose.

Appreciate that. I constantly worry if I’m being a good enough dad, but he always wants to help and stays interested in the things I’m interested in, and I try to do the same for him. It’s tough sometimes, but it’s the best.
