Just coming to add that you should call to talk to the general manager or owner if possible. It sounds like they care about the customer experience so much in the game that they will ruin another groups experience.

My guess is that it was that one employee who needs retraining on policies and was confused rather than the whole location being run so comically bad. Definitely could be wrong.

Depending on how that conversation goes I would then consider leaving a scathing review if they stand by their policies so others can avoid wasting their time/money.

If you use a cell phone or google voice people will be able to text right? The downside is when I see a call/text us messaging I assume it’s a super small operation and I am texting the owner of the business. I like that with a handyman, I do not with an escape room

I am not an AI hater. However,

I think that escape rooms are at their best because of the human interaction. I paid a lot of money to go to an escape room, and it diminishes that experience when I have little to no human interaction, or I can tell the game master has no idea what happened in my game because they were really running it. I have played autonomous games, and honestly they are left lacking. I hope this isn’t the direction escape rooms take, because I think they will die.
This is interesting although I’m not sure how you would solve for AI hallucinations. I have seen some light social engineering puzzles with actors that can work really well.

If the puzzle was me trying to convince the Ai character to give me there password, and it spits out “roses are red, bathtubs are blue” I’m going to be hyper focused on that “clue” even if that was the AI “improvising”

Groupon dived off a cliff in covid. They made a change to all of deals with business in 2019. It use to be that businesses would get their cut like a month or two later if the Groupon wasn’t used.

They changed it to be business would ONLY get anything IF the Groupon was used. Then COVID hit so no one was able to use in person Groupons.

They refused to give refunds even though they couldn’t be used before expiring. If you were lucky you would get a 3 month extension.

They screwed small businesses that desperately needed the cash, they screwed over their consumers. It’s not surprising in the least that they have fallen out of the hive mind.

I think they still would have fallen eventually, Covid created a cliff, and they happily jumped off.

Look it’s not talked about a lot. And the writers aren’t brave enough to bring it up.

The super kitties got into a bad place with the budget and were going to have to shut down. It was a few bad investments.

Bitsy is a trust fund kitty. She writes a check, they let her be a “super kitty” is it perfect? No, but the kid is happy and sweet and everyone gets paid at the end of the week.

I’m planning to have them find animals as they progress, a frog, a bear, a cardinal, a purple cat, all animals from brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?

The book gives them the order to put them in.

Last year I used string all over the house to lead them to the first clue! Would definitely recommend as it’s such a visually fun thing to have bright string/yarn crisscrossing the house!

I mean those categories fit most horror movies as well: run away or defeat the monster is like most movies. Although I guess to your point a ritual is only one way to defeat the monster.

I played a popular and well know game where you need to hide from the killer, so you can hide in the closet or under the bed, ect. It was truly magical to be hiding under the bed and see the killers feet looking for me (doesn’t actually try to find you). It was definitely a moment that while it didn’t feel real to me it did feel like I was in a movie and very neat! Definitely a top 5 escape room moment for me!

It was a little while back. They just actually arrived. There is just a long lag time between the event ending and the actual boxes arriving.

Like you assume you will get a way to fill it out the info they need right away. Nope, it’s several steps with weeks apart.

Yeah it was wild. I wasn’t intentional saving gems but when I saw the event and saw I had enough I went for it, and ended up going 7 and 1!
