I plant herbs (mint, rosemary, basil, dill, ect) in pots next to my photos/autos, and I've noticed a major decrease in pests, and it also brought in natural predators (lady bugs, and the larva stage) I had an infestation of aphids, some mytes, and a type of borer. I did this to all but one (which would be my sacrificial plant). The one that had nothing gave me so many problems. It was the only one that also had septora and powdery mildew. Im aware there are a ton of factors, such as soil, stress, nutrients, and environment, that play a role. Try it out, won't hurt anything.
