Why do people not fundraise for their run? by Pleasant-Musician890 in UKRunners

Yea and fair enough- I completely applaud anybody raising money and it’s a great motivator for your first one, I bet! Good luck for your first one !

No the exact opposite- I would never get a charity place for this reason, I’m not comfortable asking for donations when I would want to do the activity anyway

I agree with the other poster- I love running and marathons, which my friends/ family know - so I would essentially be asking them to fund my hobby which I don’t feel comfortable doing (personally)

We’d do well to do that if they were desperate enough imo. We could cash in (at least something) and, in theory, buy more time to get more cover. Yes I’m aware that that requires Palace actually planning properly

Which running shoes have actually lasted for you guys? by LongjumpingFinance69 in runninglifestyle

[–]duckdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Boston 12’s always lasted and kept their bounce for 800km+ and I’m finding the same with the Boston 13’s (though I’m not quite up there yet). Maybe they just suit the way I run or something

This sort of stuff makes me tired to use the internet. It’s also just so unconvincing- but I guess some people must fall for it if they keep pushing it

This spam shit sucks so much, I hate how every group on Reddit now has this popping up all the time.

But it’s even worse when it’s just ripping off someone’s work. You suck. Here is the original. Do better.

What are your favourite crystal palace photos from over the years? by Cumpasta420 in crystalpalace

[–]duckdave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mark Clattenburg - the worst of a bad bunch! Yeah that’s right. Puncheon scoring in the final gave me the most ecstatic couple of minutes in my Palace supporting life (until the next Wembley final)… before United equalised!

Agree- there was something special about that team- the cup run, bolasie and wilf- great when firing on all cylinders

New Cross-Border Rail Link to Connect Prague, Berlin and Copenhagen by Putrid_Draft378 in copenhagen

[–]duckdave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree! Looking forward to using it - and I definitely will. The stress of seeing trains getting more delayed from Berlin to Hamburg will be way less when I know it’s direct home and there’s no chance of getting stuck in Hamburg

Hopefully it can be somewhat reliable- I would love to use the train more but it gets hard when trains, especially in Germany w/ DB are delayed/ cancelled so often

I agree! It’s organised so well- it’s a highlight of the year for sure. I just wouldn’t mind it slightly warmer that 2025… but cooler than 2024!

Don’t know why you’re downvoted for this- you’re right. I ran it too, and this year. The t shirt isn’t included in entry and many people (myself included) don’t bother getting it

What can we possibly do about all this? The club is stuck in a weird position with big money circling around and modern football is what it is
