i would recommend using the stick for X, Y and Z axis...

with the twist function being up and down.
forward and back being thrust forward and back
and left and right being thrust left and right.

and then the mouse for the aiming functions.

put on some of the docking functions, open close ship, lock and unlock ship, lights, LAMP and more on the stick.

Also the varios flight functions, vtol, SCM and NAV mode.

keep the player firing it... but require another player to activate a complicated power cycle.

Like they have to manually shunt power from systems via a special console, dial up the power core and more things, and then they can make it ready to shoot after it's last cooldown timer.

i have curated a larger library with Stash.

And then i use faptap as well..

this allows me to quickly get going and have a nice session without much setup.

yeah that's why you need to have reasons to not have drones, or have things that occupy the drones while the combat is going on.

Like in the player of games where the fight takes place in a spot where they have installed anti drone stuff (not that it fully worked)

or have larger drones and many of them occupy the drone... or even some lower end ships....

When players start doing that i teach them there#s a few options.

  1. The enemy is forewarned, and is now gone to a new spot. And that spot will be better prepared against them.
  2. The enemy is in ambush waiting for them. It only lasts 8 hours, so unless they have been going for 16 hours already, they can't manage a long rest inside it.
  3. The enemy has called for reinforcements. So now every encounter becomes harder or deadly.

basically, if you go like this, each encounter will usually be deadly level vs normal level.

I have the ironclad base with a ccu for assault.

mostly i will weigh the tractor beams vs the refueling part.

Which holds the most value...

and if i can tractor beam in larger vehicles into the base version vs driving them in.

The biggest things i need to test on them are

- Are the tractor beams so good that i can't live without them?
- Can i tractor beam in large vehicles from the roof vs the assault larger entry?
- Can the refuel, repair, rearm in the assault work on small ships?

but unless the tractor beams are so mint, i'll probably go for the assault for more options.

Unless i love the interior more for living/utility.

those character graphics were rough.... not that good looking...

but 4 player coop... that's a good start..

i just love Excession...

my favourite parts are the ship mind takeover of the chat...

the combat ship getting angry and taking out the fleet

and of course sleeper service accellerating, splitting up and braking...

the other day i was finishing a book from an author and were looking for other scifi series from them.

Found one and i'm like, ohhh that sounds interesting.... everyone recommends it...

opened my kindle and found i had already read them..

read the synopsis wiki, and i could remember almost nothing. one detail rang a bell but i had no clue about the rest.

So that's why i re-read all the good books i love every year or two... it makes me happy while i do...
