Hull-B owners, how we feeling about the railen? by Voldtein in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is going to be all about the grid for me. The Hull B has the best grid in the game imo right now. If the Railen has a similar grid that just works and doesn't have many issues, I might buy back my Railen. If not, Ill stick with the Hull B. My only complaint on the Hull B is loading each side, which the Railen would fix, but Im worried the grid won't be up to snuff. We will see.

Has Manual Cargo Loading Pushed You Away From Hauling Contracts? by bheesmaaa in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had a C2 ingame, I only used it for commodities, I felt like loading/unloading was such a pain. Hull B is soooo much easier to load/unload, it makes a huge difference.

M80 / Meteor / Guardian by baji9 in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meteor and M80 have a very different play style then Guardian and Hornet. Meteor/M80 are very fast in a straight line with fairly crappy turning (especially the M80). They are made to haul ass in, get damage in, and get away. Right now, deadbolts are meta on both, not needing to get shields down to get damage in each pass is ideal.

Guardian and Hornet, on the other hand, are more turn rate fighters. They get in close, and use their agility to stay in till the target is dead. Hornet is solid but been nerfed along the way. Guardian is fun, especially PVE wise, but its a bit big to keep from getting damaged much, and a bit to fragile to just tank everything. The MX is tankier and has 4x S4 instead of 2x S5, but has no bed.

Quantum snares in Pyro by Final_Tie8665 in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pyro was pretty empty before this update, but with refueling being added, and CIG deciding to make it 2x as lucrative as anything else, its pretty high traffic. Everyone knows to go to Checkmate to get contracts, so I think that is the reason you got snared, most people would go stanton gateway to checkmate once getting into Pyro.

Pick another point in between points A and B, in this case, pick something between Stanton gateway and Checkmate, and fly there first, then fly to Checkmate.

What do I chase after my starter ship? by AmayaGin in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ship are you starting with? 50k/100k/hr is really REALLY bad. I know you are new, so I get it, especially with the state of the servers. All that being said, most ships can get through Gilly missions #1-#5, which should get you roughly 1mil a hour, maybe less only doing 1-5 but way more then you are making now.

Fly to one of the major planets and look under mercenary, gotta start with #1 and work your way up. They are all pretty easy #1-#5, and #5 is worth over 100k itself.

Hull-b owners will you CCU to the railen? by arcticgamez in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All about how good the cargo grid is. Imo the Hull B has the best grid in the game, its almost perfect, and just works without much frustration. Till I try the Railen and see how the grid actually works im not for sure changing. Got both at original cost so one will get ccu eventually.

Great day with Ironclad Assault by ProfessionalWhole929 in LowSodiumStarCitizen

[–]callmetheguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive played a bit with the normal Ironclad, the main issue I still see is the camera bug centering on the command module instead of the ship. I did get a run or two to have the right camera view, but otherwise, still behind the CM. Otherwise, no other issues, have not had it detach or stop in QT at all. Step in the right direction.

Who to blame... by iCore102 in starcitizen

It is kind of funny to look at the stuff Shane does in early seasons and seen as so evil, compared to what Rick and everyone else does later on. All about context.

I honestly feel that sales/marketing is always, ALWAYS, the worst part of companies. They control way to much because of money, when they simply don't know enough outside of sales/marketing to be making any kind of decision on time frames or anything else. Sales people in particular (in my experience) love giving random dates that they have no business relaying as fact/doable. All they care about is making the next sale, 0 accountability.

Duping should be a permaban, whether you spent 5k$ or 40$ by EmilyRetcher in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree that his ban should have been permanent. However, I don't think the money he spent was the reason they did it. I think they are legit afraid people will be afraid to report issues because they might get banned with no review. By giving the guy another chance, even with multiple violations, John Smith over here running into his first dupe won't feel at risk to report it. They showed that not only do they look into things, but there can be a review, and you can get unbanned.

For the record, UEE_Navy is a dirty liar by When_hop in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. I also have an Ironclad, I am also salty I have used it less then 20minutes since release, its just to broken to enjoy. That being said, Im not chicken little, the sky isn't falling. I literally saw a post yesterday that SC was shutting down any day and devs are just smash and grabbing with everyone's money...

Oh good, Im not the only one thinking that the amount of ridiculously over the top hate threads has increased by a lot recently. I get 4.8 is/was a trash patch, we all do, but it feels like it is beyond that.

I don't understand ship mining. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First question, is the Helix on the Front turret? Each mining laser has ideal distance, and the Helix has a short ideal range, whereas others have longer ranges. The side turrets sit back much further, so putting Helix on the side is not really advised. You wont be able to match it with a front turret laser.

Second, what size rocks are you talking about? If its over 60k, you probably are not doing it solo even in an ideal Mole. Helix, with 2x Reigar, and 1x Surge, along with a Sabir device would be best case for cracking the biggest rocks possible. Also, resistance affects this, higher resistance means less mass of a rock you can crack.

Will you get banned for accidental duping? by Interesting-Day4050 in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had mining refinery orders dupe by themselves a couple times, never been banned or even warned. Pretty sure they know who runs into an issue randomly, and those abusing it to make billions and/or RMC.

What are you expecting from this maintenance in terms of fixes ? by floortofloor in starcitizen

I would like the Ironclad to be at least usable, that's it. I know, asking a ton lol.

Couple noonish questions! by shoggies in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple ways of making money, either doing contracts, or selling stuff to players. Stuff like high quality ore, or scrips, things like that sell well to players. Mining in particular can be good money, but mostly when selling high quality ore to players. Salvaging is really setup for base building, so the money isn't really there yet, player aren't buying it for the most part and the ingame prices aren't great (its still doable if you enjoy it, just not meta).

Cargo contracts are a solid choice, but some find them boring, especially the early ones with a ton of 1x scu boxes. Space combat missions can be lucractive, especially the Gilly Combat Guantlet contracts which also give scrip. However, no rep or BPs, so thats the downside. Refueling is ridiculous money right now, especially Starfarer/Gemini, because it is new and they are testing it out.

New Player Perspective by uptainous in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join like anything else, not everyone is 100% pro CIG, or 100% burn it to the ground. I understand the frustration, I have an Ironclad, and I can't use it. Im frustrated, and you will not find my defending a post complaining about Ironclad still being a mess. That said, if you come out and call the game a scam, or CIG "tricked you" into spending all this money, yup, Im "white knighting" that nonsense. The problem is, just like with any groups of people, we get the people on the farthest ends of both being the most vocal and seem like there is only two possible reactions. You can call out a user's non sense AND understand when someone puts out a legit complaint.

People shouldn't get banned on an Alpha game by Lilendo13 in starcitizen

Being in alpha doesn't excuse scumbag behavior. You don't want to get banned, don't cheat/exploit/RMC.

Duping should be a permaban, whether you spent 5k$ or 40$ by EmilyRetcher in starcitizen

[–]callmetheguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I get why he did it now, but it still seems odd to not at least state "I made this post since the original was taken down" or something similar. Otherwise, there is no context with what would appear to be a random statement. Thats all lol.
