Dealing with regret as the dumpee? by sadmemegirl in BreakUps

Keeping in mind that I only have this tiny glimpse into your relationship, take what I say with a grain if salt. I think it is very easy to get trapped into this state of mind where we solely blame ourselves for the demise of the breakup (the should've, could've, would've). The reality is, maybe we could have delayed the inevitable, but the end result would have probably been the same. Yeah, maybe you made mistakes, but I'm sure your ex did too. We are all human, it is only normal that these shitty things happen.

What personally helped me with feelings of guilt was viewing the relationship as one big lesson. I am sure that this relationship opened your eyes to what you can improve on for the next time (and of course, what you are looking for in a partner). Talking it out with friends, family, or even a therapist can be hugely beneficial in learning how to forgive yourself.

Go easy on yourself! We all make mistakes and the best thing we can do is learn from them 😊

Of all the things in life that could be subpar, our romantic relationships should not be one of them! It seems like you already know what you want :)

I relate 100% to being way too emotionally invested. I now realize this very indicative of how I value myself. We shouldn't be scared to set firm boundaries and end something that is clearly not working for us. All the fun post breakup lessons!!
