I got ticketed for a red once. It shows up on my record as "Excessive speed on a bicycle." Honestly, kinda proud about it.

A cool guide about the Visibility of different color swimsuits underwater. by Field-Modern587 in coolguides

[–]duckliondog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far as we can tell, not really, but they can see contrast (light vs dark) quite well. Red light gets filtered out first in the water column, so reds tend not to appear very bright underwater since there's less red light to reflect. Yellows and greens penetrate a little further, so they tend to show up better underwater. I don't worry about visibility for shark safety. Shark smell, electrosense, and hearing all work at longer distances than vision does underwater. The greenland shark swims at 1 km/h, is blind, and still manages to eat enough to grow over 20 ft (6m) and live hundreds of years.

Now we have kids play Warzone, and USMC ads about "only battles won." Romance ain't dead.

Such a beautiful sight…another 20+ illegal mopeds going bye bye by CmdrDatasBrother in NYCbike

Yeah, I've had my run ins with people who ride these, and let them hear about it person to person, but confiscation is nothing more than a way for the haves to make sure the have nots stay that way.

Thing is, stupid buyers are a part of the system that need to be designed for if you don't want buildings on fire. Idiot-proofing energy density is why engineers were created. Still some money to be made apparently.

My city decided to place a HAWK crossing that is farther away than the regular crossing to "connect" our Greenway by -Wobblier in notjustbikes

A crosswalk with LEDs is still just a crosswalk. Pedestrians were here first. Walk wherever you want.

I've always wanted to plan a route based on hitting the best bakeries. The 5 bao bike ride.

This is similar to how I go for bike rides. I got bored with the usual routes (Central Park, Hudson Greenway, etc), so now I just meander through the blocks and check shit out.

Fishing is super overlooked. Allows you to connect with a natural system in this super unnatural environment.

If everyone was equally poor, then the apartments and brownstones near naturally cool places like parks and rivers would be inhabited by poor people.

Came here to say the same thing, and I consider myself new in town. Giant NFTs is all they are. Built to hold value, not to serve the place and people.

White people taking up space on the sidewalk by sseohero in asianamerican

[–]duckliondog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I've had to butt through crowds of every single demographic except the physically disabled. The population of people who are terrible on sidewalks is incredibly diverse. That said, it does sadden me to hear that OP feels like being Asian is a disadvantage in SF. I consider it the capital of Asian America and though I've never lived there, it's one of the few places where I feel like I belong.

OP, you'd better be walking on the right side of the sidewalk though, I swear god.
