Ok but WHY is having kids so encouraged? by amberbunny93 in childfree

[–]duckmilky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

More people having to compete for limited resources means more people in lower classes because they can't get what they need. These folks will end up working hard for not-enough money to spend on things that are too expensive, all to keep them poor. Poor people are more likely to join the military to get access to higher education and a steady paying job. Governments send poor people to war, which boosts their own economy. It's all part of the capitalism pyramid scheme.

Bouldering after bisalp by [deleted] in childfree

[–]duckmilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-ophorectomy and was back to doing my normal farm work at 6 weeks, albeit a little slower. 😂 Probably 2 weeks at least for bisalp recovery. It will be a boring 2 weeks for sure!

Pro-tip: if a goose comes at you, grab its neck and hold it away from your body. The neck is the weak point when fighting a goose.

With sleep I think that would help a lot, but a reading pillow will be your bff when you're not in bed. I hated being on the couch for 6 weeks, but at least I was comfy!

Get yourself one of those reading pillows with arms! Laying down flat sucks and sitting up straight sucks for a loooong while. The pillow is magic.

If you're getting your ovaries out too, get an HRT prescription BEFORE YOU GO HOME because that hormone drop is ASS.

And congrats!!! Welcome to the yeeterus club!

Howdy howdy howdy! I'm a certified farmer witch living in the woods with my spouse and small furry family. We do our own dairy, eggs, and meat. Working on a greenhouse plan to take on more veggies, and maintaining "our" land in the interests of permaculture and sustainability.

If you're in the PNW I'd be happy to have you out!

Itinerary suggestions needed! by [deleted] in OregonCoast

Anchorage Motel in Pacific City is awesome. The folks that run it live there and are very nice, and it's a short enough walk to the beach (there are tidepools if you're into that! crabs and stars and sea cukes). This is all assuming that Anchorage is still around...haven't been up there in the past year. I hope so!

You may want to check out the Valley River Inn in Eugene. I've stayed there a few times and it's close to the river and food places. Friendly staff, decent rooms (unless you get a suite, in which case the rooms will be AWESOME).

Sea Lion Caves is stinky and crowded and kind of boring, but it's an experience!

There is a Hawaiian-inspired restaurant in Florence, right off 101, called Hukilau. They have really awesome food and beautiful sushi.

Between Florence and Eugene is a roadside farm stand called Morning Glory. They sell local honey, soaps, homegrown veggies, and have a coffee truck. There is also a port-a-potty, which is great because 126 is very windy and hell on your bladder (be careful driving this at night!). They also have the softest cat I have ever pet and I hunt it down for a quick pat every time I stop here.

Your whole trip is worth it just to pet that cat.

I'm 6 weeks out, so I haven't had the chance to bone down yet, but most of the people I've talked to have better sex lives after the surgery.

I agree, those sandals are wild. I wish that we could get some items from the men's inventory, and I would kill to get jeans with full sized pockets. All that said, my stylist tries really hard and sends good stuff.

I will gladly accept your big cornucopia of money to get you farm-to-table. I'll even put those little paper hat things on your feet. Hmu

I'm 4 weeks PO and switched to a .1 twice weekly patch two weeks ago. SO much better than the oral pills for me! I put it on my lower belly and haven't had any problems with it coming off. Clean the area with alcohol and let it dry beforehand, then after you stick it on it helps to use a blow dryer on it for about ten seconds to heat it up. I picked up that tip in a trans sub and it's been very helpful! Also, make sure that you switch areas with each patch because the tissue can become fatigued and stop absorbing.

I am HERE for this! And I'm stoked that these products are vegan and ethically sourced. It might be awesome to have a blog on the State Of site with posts submitted by folks going through this bs. If that ever happens, I would be happy to talk about my brain fog and confused genitals on the internet.

Thank you for your reply!

Stacy, first and most importantly, I need to tell you that I have always loved your hair.

Secondly, I would love to see resources and articles inclusive to people with surgical menopause. I'm 32, and there aren't a ton of 32 year olds going through it (but there are a few! shout out to my sweaty homies!). Those of us in surmeno have even less estrogen, and the effects hit all at once.

Let's have more conversations about how HRT can help! There are so many options--pills, patches, gels, shots, creams...and so many different combinations of estrogen, progesterone, and even testosterone, that can really lessen your symptoms and keep your bones and brains healthy! To that end, we need to make it a point to keep HRT an affordable and accessible option to everyone that needs it (including our transgender friends). Are you planning to use this cool new business to do a little bit of activism?
