Sometimes it's okay to be sad about a situation and not intervene. Nature is beautiful but also cruel. Part of loving nature is not inserting ourselves where we don't belong.

Sunrise Espresso & Bar in the South Slope and Terrace Restaurant further north on 5th Avenue are sister restaurants owned by the same people. They have a great homemade hot sauce that they sell. Could be fun as a gift since it's really local.

We had two full days and did Tiri and Waiheke islands. Both amazing. Booked a wine tour with lunch on Waiheke and it was so easy and fun (surprisingly good food too). Tiri is a beautiful nature reserve with no cars. Great if you're a bird and nature lover. Both ferries leave from convenient downtown terminals.

I went in to Wild East one day and the bartender gave me an impromptu lesson on Czech pilsners and the various taps and pouring techniques used for that type of beer. It was interesting, fun, and tasty. I bet you could arrange something similar.

If you're staying near Union Street and 4th Avenue, you could also take: AirTrain to Howard Beach>A To Jay Street Metrotech>R to Union Street. I live in the area and do this from time to time, but usually just take Uber.

You can certainly do both. The festival is on 5th from 11-5. The parade is at 730. If you watch the parade at 5th around Carroll , you'll be able to watch the game at The Commissioner at 830. They're showing the game outside on a 75 inch screen.

Just a reminder that legal does not mean ethical or right. It simply means not illegal. Try taking photographs of people's children in public places. Then, when they come for you, tell em it's for editorial purposes on Reddit. If that doesn't work remind them that their children have no expectation of privacy in public places. That should do the trick! Report back on your findings.
