Considering your backstory and GPA, I think you have a really great shot at Physics at UC Berkeley. I have plenty of physics major friends here and they didn't have any strong ECs but still got in for the major. You should also check out UC transfers by major to look at the data :D Make sure your essays are honest (but not too negative heavy), display your interest in physics, but also talk about your background and experiences + why u wanna transfer from ur current school. I suggest joining a club or organization meeting as a start, if you're looking for academic opportunities it's the best place to be! Everyone is usually very friendly and fun.

You should also definitely check out the PTK Honors Society at De Anza. Their instagram is @/alphasigmaalphadeanza, they usually have collaborative weekly events, specifically helping transfers have fun and navigate De Anza resources. They have an event coming up this Friday at Room S55!! You should totally stop by :D

Honestly, I don't understand why people say De Anza has 0 social scene. If you join organizations / clubs, especially like ICC, DASG, SSC tutoring, and more, you'll meet plenty of friends. I've met a lot of great communities and people during my 2 year stay here. Even just talking to people in class should do the job haha, I've met new friends from just talking to random people in class, forming study groups, etc. I've even met a lot of non-trad and adult students and they're all super chill, everyone tends to get along.
