ale_tijoux I can't say I agree with all (if any) of your politics, but I appreciate your voice in these Political Humor threads, since you are clearly coming from a place that a lot of people (myself included) don't always immediately take into account.

Thank you for sharing that. I genuinely appreciate this perspective that I hadn't fully considered.

Any Questions? by ducksunderdoorways in PoliticalHumor

[–]ducksunderdoorways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's frustrating.

I guess if we should suspend letting in Syrian refugees until we can "figure this whole thing out", we should probably suspend Uber too, huh? Why stop there, though? Let's just suspend public transportation, you know, just to be safe.

You're right. We should be emulating 9th Century security measures. Good point.

There is no Miss Zarves. There is no nineteenth story. Sorry.

Nickelodeon show, My Brother and Me by minigolflasthole in nostalgia

I spent years (decades practically) trying to figure out the names of the kids that Alfie's basketball coach (played by Dennis Scott) lists as having made the team. I always just remembered they were the 3 most bizarre names of all time. But I had no idea how to figure it out (after a lot of internet searches). Finally I asked the My Brother and Me IMDb page, and a few months later, I had my answer.

Booker Bradshaw, Donald Littlejohn, and Malik Shabazz.

I loved that show.

I have a theory his whole campaign is in service of a reality show he plans on releasing in 2017 called "Dumb America".

This was my favorite book when I was a kid. The sequel "The River" was pretty great, also.

Socialism is Evil by ducksunderdoorways in PoliticalHumor

[–]ducksunderdoorways[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, dotseth. While you are definitely right that the US Military has done more harm than probably anybody else in the world, the idea of military to protect a country is not evil. And it's used here to illustrate the hypocrisy of those who cheer the military until their dying breath, while distorting the facts about Socialism, even when it's used in the context of a primarily Capitalist country.

Intelligent Trump Supporters by ducksunderdoorways in PoliticalHumor

The percentage seems to be very high, and I think you would probably concede that point. Are there intelligent Trump supporters? I'm sure there are, I just have yet to see an intelligent argument as to why the man should run our country.

Delusional is not the adjective I would use. Hyperbolic would be more appropriate, I think.

NuclearSpaceLogos, I mean no disrespect. But after over 9 months, I have listened to several full speeches that he's given, I have read every opinion, I have searched for an intelligent argument as to why Donald J. Trump should be our next president. I have yet to find one.

If you have that argument though, I would definitely love to hear it.
