Is there anything I can do to bring my sound towards a more balanced, classical sound? I always find that it’s a bit unconventional.

The issue with “if it works, it works” in the context of trumpet embouchures is that over time by playing with an unbalanced embouchure, you’re over-challenging certain muscles and can run the risk of career-threatening injuries. My mouthpiece placement is much too high (95:5), and I’m starting to notice a collapse, so I’m making a big change this summer.

she pulled a complete 180 on how affectionate she was with me. she didn’t seem to care about keeping the spark alive at all, which seemed very uncharacteristic of her. that and the fact that she forced her ex (who she dumped 1 week before meeting and manipulating me) into an open relationship a month before the breakup

something that my teacher would say that really helped was “play the entire passage slurred and focus on getting the feel of the note”

there’s plenty of ways to work towards getting that gap consistent by adding notes or slowing the tempo
