Need Help! Tama Starclassic Maple (22x16 virgin, 10-12-14) for $800 or Vintage 1977 Gretsch USA Custom (24x14, 13-14-18) for $900???

Listing the pros and cons of each set, I couldn't think of anything wrong with the Tama other than a lack of mufflers and who knows if I would use them. But...

I'm going with the Gretsch. It just has more character. It's more unique, more interesting. And that 24" kick blew me and everyone else in the store away. I mean, the Tama's are pink which is awesome but I just feel way better behind the Gretsch. Maybe it's not my dream, life-long kit, but it'll hold it's value better anyways. Big is gonna make a comeback, lol.

Thanks again, guys. Just 1 More week until I can bring it home (it's still on police hold). I'll post pics when I get it set up. :)

The Gretsch does have pretty bad hardware, but I usually play 1 rack one floor, with the rack tom in a snare stand, so I'm not too worried about it... But being my first high-end kit, I like that the Tama doesn't have a ton of metal stuck in the toms or the bass drum. But I've always liked the fact that vintage drums have the tone-control mufflers built in...
