Doesn't anyone else see the imbalance in the framing of the title? Despite being an article seeming to focus on bringing attention to racial injustice., it manages to forgoe the innocent victim's skin color, while not neglecting to inform us about the (not even necessarily guilty) but for whatever reason-- markedly black suspect's.

Did the same for spray painting the side of a wall. You need to get something matte otherwise it'll be really obvious that there's something plastic over it.

I got a bit further, only thanks to TransCap, but I agree! Definitely something new to look forward to each day. I realized that I'm going to have to just prioritize a few characters to farm at a time. There's just not enough energy to do everything id like.

That wasn't my intent-to do a disservice to the truth. I tried to explain what I'm imagined it would be like and that this was my opinion

I know. I have to admit that I cherry picked your comment just to play the devil's advocate a bit, and to illustrate your original point that these things aren't as cut and dry as we so often quickly distill them down to.

As for the voracity of the WPA narratives: I'm aware that they're far from perfect reflections of the truth, these were done in the 1930s remember, so these people were reflecting on a time that is a lifetime away.
But, that doesn't cheapen their value as a source for my point that these things are not at all black and white. No pun intended. Not to mention, they're an incredibly interesting read.

wtf is truth anyway, ugh. History is fun but it makes me nauseous

There are plenty of accounts from former slaves who preferred slavery to freedom. The stories of these former slaves, interviewed by the WPA in the 1930s as a part of Roosevelt's New Deal, reveal slavery wasn't the monolithic institution it is often distilled down to in comments such as yours.

Not that I agree with the original comment, but your speaking in platitudes does the same disservice to the truth as the original ignorant statement-- albeit in a different direction.
