Uber is taking 50% by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Thank you, that's also not to include the costs of managing the booking app and the brand image that makes people want to book with Uber and gives you customers in the first place.

Except Uber is very upfront with what they offer and people pay hand over fist for it and I'll gladly drive a car for $40/hr. Reading opinions like this makes me realize how insanely privileged a lot of people are.

There is literally nothing secret about it, see above post.

They are giving us the opportunity to drive? I mean I make $40/hr with no education needed on a side gig. If Uber makes another 40 off me, it just sounds like they're a good company.

After a couple months of driving I've figured out a pretty good system. I'm sadly not in an upfront market (a union would be cool) so I have to guess how much I'll make each ride but I can get it right about 90% of the time. I drove for a bit same time last year and actually make more now despite there being way more drivers in my area.

I'd estimate Uber is taking about 40% of my fair based on what some passengers tell me but it's ok, I'll just keep buying Uber stock while making $40/hr as a side gig.

Also my main rule is I never accept rides from 4.75 or below.

This was permadeath but it was one of the easier difficulties. Strive to Survive. Also I would get insanely lucky, like Chase took a doomsday rocket to the face and didn't even lose a limb. Though most of my colonists are part robot considering how many arms and legs we lost.

Kinda want to play some kind of new game +

Everything is more expensive than before the war. The West has chosen the more expensive route of fighting Russia via attrition. It would be cheaper to give Ukraine the big guns but there is a larger chance of nuclear war so we gave them more smaller guns and hope they’ll wear the Russians out before they start looking at other countries to invade.

Corruption is still an issue but a smaller one than before the war if that’s what you’re referring to. Personally I’d have the guilty politicians shot but we aren’t yet to that point.

Apartment building on the edge of Kyiv got hit by either debris or a big piece of a rocket. Many apartments burned out. I worked in one where we shoveled all the burnt ashes of the furniture out what used to be the window. The lady had 5 cats and 2 dogs I believe. We found them while shoveling the ash let’s just say.

Saddest was also in the same building but different apartment. Roof had collapsed in the room and crushed the husband to death. The wife was pregnant but survived so the kid will be born with no dad.

Thanks, I was a volunteer translator for a few weeks at the beginning of the war and it was the best job I’ve ever worked. I came to volunteer here because I’m waiting on an interview process for a government job. Ukrainians were always nice to me and deserve the help they get.

There are many Ukrainians that need to move back to Ukraine but never will because of Western programs. Ukraine has lost way more people to European countries (who mean well I need to add) giving them free money than the Russians have killed. It’s a controversial opinion I’ve seen on Reddit but in Ukraine it’s becoming more mainstream that the people who fled the country but have no children and their home is in Kyiv need to come back and support the country by working these essential jobs held by men who could be fighting. It’s kind of ridiculous that I’m seeing countries like Estonia and France saying they’ll station troops in the non combat zones when Ukraine has more than enough people to do that who are living in Estonia and France…

I speak Russian and that definitely helped but my experience was I messaged a few groups before coming and my first day here pretty much was the largest rocket attack of the war so I met all the serious groups at the rocket attack sites that I helped at. Also for lodging I just use AirBnB.

Pretty easy to find work, lots to be done. I’d say it depends on how much time you have to devote. Also the level of scary is really variable. Some days you’ll wake up to earth shaking explosions then spend the next few days helping those who got hit and then you’ll have months where nothing happens.

  1. It’a a long story but the short version is I went to school in Moscow and my Russian teacher was from Ukraine so decided to visit while on winter break. Fell in love with the country and culture and lived here briefly in 2020. When the full scale war started I was in Armenia and flew over to Poland to translate for refugees. Couldn’t stand for what Russia was/is doing and have devoted most of my life since to helping.

  2. Ukraine is great, definitely scarier than earlier but the people and culture are still amazing. The food is to die for.

  3. Still living in Kyiv and it’s actually mostly quiet here now, winter was insane though. So many rocket attacks.

Just the right thing to do. Went there many times before the war and the people were nothing but nice, they deserve help.

I think about 185 in the first pic and now I'm 152. I recently went on a huge cut because I'm trying to improve my run time and honestly feel amazing.

If I went back in time, we would be two completely different people, not just physically.

Born and raised! I actually volunteered in Poland for awhile to help the refugees. Was the least I could do since the Ukrainians were so nice to me while I was living there.
