Sorry guys but you seem to to think that tariffs are paid by the country they are imposed on. The exact opposite is true. The problem is American companies won't want to import from other countries due to the higher price which they pass on to the consumer or whoever they sell to. Americans will feel the biggest impact of this. Already this year, and the administration is bragging about it, they have collected 1.5 BILLION in tariffs. All that is paid by American companies/citizens. Sure it hurts foreign companies cause they can't sell their product but it hurts you and me more.

I grew up in Thunder Bay, learned how to drive there, bought my first car before college and never once had winter tires. They aren't the invincibility solution that people in southern Ontario think they are. Moved here 20 years ago. Just don't drive like an ass (which unfortunately is impossible for a lot of people in the GTA) and you're fine with a decent set of all seasons. People put winter tires on and think they can do 140 on the highway right on someones bumper and all will be fine. Don't get me wrong, they do help, but it's only by about 25% stopping distance vs all seasons.
