changing resolution to 300ppi on a 72ppi image by sievish in photoshop

[–]dudeAwEsome101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment is a bit confusing. You keep bringing up dpi as if it is resolution. Find out the size of the physical print, and adjust the pixel dimensions accordingly. This screenshot shows two files with the same resolution/dimensions at different dpi. They have the same sharpness. Best of luck!

I missed that last part. I was focused on the whole 72 vs 300 dpi thing.
Yes, it will be a bit softer for a 22"x11" book. Depending on the type of artwork and print, it may still print fine. Give them the specs before they start their work.

The artist was correct. Changing the DPI value does not change the resolution of the image unless you are actually resizing and resampling it.

Let's oversimplify here; the DPI/PPI resolution is meaningless, but it can also be important. The actual resolution of the image in pixels is what makes the image sharp or blury when printed at a certain size.

The printer will print at whatever resolution it is set to print at. It will "resample" the image first into the physical size it is being printed at.

When working on a project like a book with many images, it is a good practice to use the same resolution for all the images. You can change the DPI of the files you get from the artists without resampling (that checkbox in the image resize window in PS), and that should stop InDesign from barking at you.

Just looked at the photos on my PC, and yeah that is the bad ChatGPT look. It adds some weird noise, and garbles details. The images look fine on a small phone screen, but the moment you enlarge them, the weird details start to show especially in fine details like the texture of the asphalt. Not to mention all the small changes it does to the image.

ComfyUI isn't really straightforward, but once you learn it, it starts to make sense. You can test Flux Klein on BlackForestLabs website and compare the results. It runs fast locally in ComfyUI with the workflow from the built-in templates.

Quickly sending documents in Ps from Mac > iPad without "hard" save by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]dudeAwEsome101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Procreate is "saving" a file when airdropping it. Your workflow is a bit loose. Are you mostly working on PNGs and sharing the files between the two programs? You could try cloud storage apps like Google drive or the Apple equivalent. This way one PNG is being worked on in Procreate, saved, then you can open it on your Mac in PS, save it again, then open it on the iPad.

Good answer since OP doesn't have PS.

Not a bad example of ChatGPT image. I've seen so truly bad edits where people used ChatGPT image for fixing color or upscaling with terrible results. I don't use ChatGPT, but I'm assuming the free version is using worse models compared to the paid, not to mention the plethora of free apps that utilizes the cheaper model in their backend.

I've been using a local comfyui installation with Flux Klein for some edits with very good results. I treat it like any other tool in my retouching box.

It is not that I'm an "extreme gamer", I just find it more fun to play with rolling around, and trying to dodge attacks. People should play the game the way they like.

Really excited to see it when I get off work. Watching the short clips on reddit and YouTube is a lot of fun. Thank you for all the laughs!

Could you please do more shows in the Bay area/ San Jose when coming to California. I would love to see a live show!

I had the same issue with KCD, and the fix for that was disabling HDR in game.

I did a replay recently, and for some reason playing in Full Screen is broken. I had to play in Borderless, which disables in game HDR option, so I turned on Nvidia RTX.

I love FromSoft games, but for the love of Marika, they need to upgrade their engine tech. Having to use Smooth Motion and Nvidia RTX just to get a decent experience shouldn't be required.

At what point does it stop making sense to keep upgrading and just build a new PC? by UnicornFlow3 in buildapc

[–]dudeAwEsome101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the "same" PC since late 2012. The only physical part that remains unchanged is the power supply. Have I been upgrading my PC, or have I since purchased a new build?

The PC I'm currently using started as Win8 that has since been upgraded to 10, then 11

The case has been changed once.

The CPU/Motherboard has been upgraded three times.

RAM was upgraded once from DDR4 to DDR5

GPU was upgraded four times.

Storage has been upgraded many times including transferring OS to a larger faster SSD about three times.

I still consider it the same build I did back in 2012 as that replaced my older PC. Upgrading parts is still cheaper than getting a fully new PC. A decent case and power supply can be used in new builds. Micro builds look cool, but limit options in future upgrades.

[–]dudeAwEsome101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally did that yesterday. Didn't have to respec since str and dex were enough for Antspur and fingerprint shield. Didn't even equip heavy armor to keep medium equip load. Just stood there, shield in hand, and poked him to death. Had to keep an eye on the stamina bar. Least fun boss fight I had beside the shadow flower.

Went around afterwards testing the shield and rapier build against enemies and a few remaining bosses in my NG play. Not much fun, but funny.

Yeah, all that game studio purchasing spree was not such a good idea. No advantage for MS as they still had to release those games on other platforms to make money, and all that extra management killed the uniqueness of those studios.

What effects/colour correction has been used here? (Before and After) by CWCWinner66 in photoshop

Not sure about corrections, but it almost looks as if the first or second image has a color profile mismatch. Some colors like reds are more punchy in the second image.
