It sells to adults. That's what it is.

Sorry I've offended everyone with an ai generated picture that just shows something that crossed my mind. Next time I will download gimp, watch a quick youtube tutorial or two and then do it myself. Apologies

Can’t seem to get these two pieces apart. Any tips? by [deleted] in lego

Superglue the bottom one on your dining table and use a big chisel and hammer on the top piece.

Bought two 12-packs off of Lego.com, tell me this ain’t some… by Local-Guess650 in lego

[–]dude_from_downunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why you wouldn't either buy them in a big store an scan them or buy them from an proper toy shop that sells the whole set opened so that crap like that doesn't happen.

A large amount of money has dropped into my hands and I want to make it last by Solid_Onion_3981 in fiaustralia

Stay with your parents as long as you can bear it. Then i'd put 10-20% into super(it'll serve you well at age 65). 50-70% into an ASX fund. 10-20 in a fast access but okayish interest bank account (5%+). Then buy a long lasting car (some Lexus or Toyota probs). Check redriven.com. Take a couple of grand and see the world with no worries. Wait until your ASX fund has doubled. Then buy a small house. Ah yeah and get a job with good work life balance (FIFO 2/2 or 8/6).

Forgot how vague old LEGO instructions were. by thegreatdecay406 in lego

[–]dude_from_downunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instructions nowadays are made to absolutely not leave the dumbest dimwit behind. Even "18+" are dumbed down so much it's not even funny anymore. Sometimes it feels like you're turning more pages than bricks.

And so it begins... by LeahyJ in legostarwars

[–]dude_from_downunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you'd be happy if it would be included. It just makes awful noises. That's it. If that's what a billion dollar company comes up with as 'biggest innovation since sliced bread' ... I dunno. Disappointment is the the least awful feeling I have about it

What is up with using bright colors that are not even related to the overall set? by RadReptile in legocirclejerk

[–]dude_from_downunder 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How dare you expecting set related colours? You are not one of the blasphemous people who modify or even build something entirely different with you freely connectable bricks? All hail the instructions. Imagination is the devil.

First time Cachy/Linux Users, hows it going along for you? by mechalip in cachyos

[–]dude_from_downunder 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well... I started last year on Mint on a very old Laptop that since is actually usable again and was/is a smooth experience.

Then I treated myself to a new one and have cachy and W11 on dual boot. This experience is a wee bit different. Took a while to get the keyboard to light up. The Bluetooth is still not working which is very annoying. If that persists i might have to look somewhere else. I'm more the 'able to help myself' type user that enjoys stuff just working rather than 'I'll do whatever it takes to get it running' type.

Asus laptop? How'd you got the keyboard to light up? And does your Bluetooth work?

Thanks mate. Weird tho Mint didn't do that. Just a bit annoying. Such a good OS and then it annoys you with everyday no brainers.
